or you could try emailing the professor to get into the class. you might have to fill out one of those forms, but if there are open seats, most profs would let you in. 1/17/2006 2:19:57 PM |

You all are missing the point. This has been done every semester. At a certain point in time (it was Friday) you can no longer add a class on your own through TRACKS. You have to have professor's written permission to join. This is to make sure that you have a conversation with the professor to see if you can in fact join the class without undue hardship- ie. you have missed tooo much work already to be able to make it up and conceivably do well.
Therefore, if there is a class you want at this point and it is open. Talk to the professor, attend the course and see if you can realistically catch up. If the professor believes you can, he/she can give you permission to add it (they will either give you a document to take to Reg and Records or will direct you to the scheduling officer in their dept. that can add you or they will take care of it with that person). Whatever the case, you need the professor's written permission to add. But go ahead and inquire. The less the class has met, the greater chance you have. 1/17/2006 2:32:18 PM |

thanks wolfee. it is not a new thing
last day to add without instructor permission was friday the 13th (hence the reason for departmental approval after friday).
and if you don't get things handled by jan 23rd you will need your dean's signature. 1/17/2006 4:50:47 PM |
