my engagement ring is properly sized, but it becomes very loose in cold weather. so loose that it flips around all the time and is almost falling off.
anyone know where i can get a simple, indiscrete spacer to put in the band? the ring can't be made smaller, since it's snug in warm weather. do i need to go to a jewelers, or would target/walmart carry what i'm looking for? 1/18/2006 10:58:02 PM |

work out more and your finger will probably have better circulation and not shrink 1/18/2006 11:22:09 PM |

i know the ones they have at walmart are clear plastic kinda stuff - they look big though - they fit around the bottom of the ring (i think you can find them where the cheap jewelry racks are).. maybe $3-4 1/19/2006 12:10:27 AM |

Just from observation, one you'd get from Wal-mart will probably either break, be huge and ugly, or turn your finger lovely shades of green. I'd be safe and hit up a jeweler. Not sure a pawn shop would carry something trifling like that. My friend had one for his class ring. 1/19/2006 10:06:59 AM |

I went to some random jewlery store in Cary Townscenter and they were able to put one on for me. I think I paid around $10 for it.. but it's very comfortable (not the big bulky plastic ones) and it matches the white gold of my ring - so it's not even noticeable. 1/19/2006 11:19:40 AM |

My fiancee just had some sizing beads put on her ring for the same reason. We went to Jolly's in North Hills and then did a great job. It was free, but that was because I got the ring there. I dont know how much it would cost otherwise, but they did a good job. 1/19/2006 11:44:35 AM |

there's a place in the mall that is by the food court that put one on my grandma's engagement ring for me. I wore it for years until i got my own. it was like 1 dollar 1/19/2006 11:47:51 AM |

you can just pour hot wax from a candle between your finger and the ring...and it'll solidify and Voila! the ring will fit that's what I've heard anyway 1/19/2006 10:18:41 PM |
