You can get repair bearing kits that take care of the problem if the axle shafts have a worn spot on 'em. I sell 'em.

itll sound like shit a long, long, long time before it ever craps out. as a matter of fact, i've never seen a complete failure on a gm axle, even with over 1/8" clearance worn away

the carrier and pinions arent worth a shit, but those damn wheel bearings will take a beating

i'm assuming wheel bearings since thats what everyone is talking about, and is what usually fails on a high mileage truck if the diff holds up that long

It is his wheel bearings. He's talking about how he can move his wheel around a little bit, and it's making the usual wheel bearing noise...

Of course, I haven't seen/heard it in person, so I won't swear to it.
