anybody know of any places within a few miles of campus that have a self-service car wash, like with pressure washers that you can use? Preferably, it would also have vacuums. Thanks 1/20/2006 3:00:01 PM |

Why wash it yourself when you could go to Sudz and get it spotless in and out for $16 or less. Its on peace street just before capital blvd on the right. If you go there you wont ever use any other carwash again. 1/20/2006 5:41:59 PM |

if you don't mind driving to cary, there's one on the corner cata-corner to cary high school on walnut street - it's brushless
plus the guy that's usually in there has a great accent, even for a guy who runs a convenience store 1/20/2006 6:07:56 PM |

Surfer_boy6 - how good of an interior job are we talking about for the $16? (obviously as detailing seems to run $80-100 around here from what i've seen, i'm not expecting uber great, but there's a lot of dust etc down around my seats i cant reach with a vacuum myself) 1/20/2006 10:55:17 PM |

^ They wash your windows inside and out, vaccum everything, wipe down everything, spray air freshener, spray some wax stuff on the outside of your car and a whole bunch of other stuff. I still can't believe that it's only $16 and your car will look brand new. They do an even better job if you appear to tip good (ie. just give them the $4 left over from the $20 you'll probably pay with and they'll be happy). The only drawback is they first send your car through an automatic car wash with those huge rubber brushes before they wash it some more by hand so if you don't mind the possibility of getting small scratches in your car (you know the tiny ones you get from going through a brush car wash) then I wouldn't recommend it. Its really the best deal in Raleigh or anywhere. 1/21/2006 2:06:36 AM |

If its still there, I could wash and vacuum my car for $5 or less in quarters. Best time to go is on weekday mornings before classes. Weekends are ridiculous there. Just wake up 1/2 hour earlier one day.1/21/2006 7:34:00 AM |

I always like the one on Rock Quarry Road, just north of MLK. But I did get stopped by the cops the last time I went there. I never realized how suspicious a white guy in a Subaru would look in that part of town. 1/21/2006 5:49:09 PM |
