Bought a '87 Trooper 5spd last night- Want to use it as a beater, but the damn thing cuts off at idle. Haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but are there any common problems with these that could be the culprit?

All the time or just when it is cold? Does it sputter then die, or just die?

sounds like a vacuum leak to me also. those things have a hell of a diagram. if it turns out to be the carb, i've got one if you need it. bunch of other parts too.

It sputters, then dies. Vacuum line hell under the hood; Disconnected and cracked vacuum lines everywhere!
