I've heard a lot of good things about them, and never anything bad, so I would assume they are decent. I have never used them myself though. 1/27/2006 8:56:25 PM |

most important thing is sound quality.
i don't care for loudness or crazy bass. 1/27/2006 9:04:55 PM |

You're in a car for fucks sake. Any of those brands you mentioned will have similar quality speaker for a given price...it just depends on if you are anal enough to demo them all and see which style suits your ears better. 1/27/2006 11:04:24 PM |

yea diamond is pretty nice stuff, theres plenty of things out there that would get u just as good sq though. i'd look around a bit more before i spent 1300$ on just mids and highs. another thing is u're never going to have great sound quality(imo) without a sub , u don't need an 18" sub or anyhting but music just isn' t the same without somehting to play the notes below 80hz not matter what u listen to. 1/27/2006 11:42:16 PM |

Could you describe your car, and the locations and times it is usually left unattended?
I'm.... just curious, that's all. 1/28/2006 2:06:32 AM |

you'll never have satisfactory audio without a sub of some sort. It's like trying to enjoy a home theatre system w/o a subwoofer.
Get at least a 10" just to fill in the bass, 12" preferrably.
And that's WAY too expensive; Diamond stuff is good but so is other stuff for less money. As it's been said, you're in a car and the road noise and whatnot will negate some of the gains in high-end speakers. 1/28/2006 6:35:06 PM |

just an fyi, i just installed a set of Polk Audio's new db series separates in my wife's highlander and i couldn't be happier with the quality of sound. i like them better than a set of quarts i used to have. you might can find them a little cheaper. 1/28/2006 6:50:07 PM |
