Here's the rig:

Asus K7N8X-Deluxe Mobo w/ onboard 5.1 Sound
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 400MHZ FSB CPU
Cooler Master Jet CPU Cooler/Heatsink
1GB (2x512) Corsair XMS DDR400 PC3200 RAM
Sapphire Radeon 9800Pro 128MB w/ GPU heatpipe (also have stock fan)
Western Digital 30GB HDD
Light-On 16x DVD Drive
Aspire X-Superalien Gaming Case (Black) w/ 500W PSU

All in perfect working condition and includes original Manuals and CDs. Solid set up, never let me down. I play a lot of FPS and Racing Games like UT2004, CS:Source, Doom3, Q4, NFSU2 and NFSMostWanted. This handles them all very well on high settings. Guaging interest.

Selling this as a whole, not parting out because i don't have any use for the individual parts. Please make offers on the whole system. Thanks.

30GB hard drive? is that correct or a typo? 30 gigs for a gaming computer these days is worthless.

yes, 30gb hdd, bought it a long time ago. I've upgraded my whole rig and this is the only hd i got left. you want more space you can get a ton for cheap, no body's stopping you. the mobo/cpu/graphics alone are worth more than $300 so no, i'm not running with it. This comp is over 1 1/2 years old so its on the lower end as far as gaming machines. Still handles any game nicely.

Do you have the original WinXP install disk/packaging?

Because if you're using the free version you can download from NCSU, its not "authentic" or "legal" if you sell it.

This is true. I'm not selling the operating system. Its just already installed from my use. If the buyer wants I can format it, or i might do it to cover my but if people get bent out'a shape about it. Hey, I might be inclinded include an authentic installed Windows ME instead. Now that's a sweet OS and will cost extra.

[Edited on January 30, 2006 at 2:26 PM. Reason : yes, i'm joking about ME...]

so a legal OS is NOT included in this rig... so basically you're selling a pile of depreciated components ... for $300? no way, buddy.

I'd give you $100 though

The only thing that was justifying the $300 price-tag was the legal OS. Take that out and you don't have anything of value for sale.

Don't buy it then, or dl your own copy if your in engineering. You get atleast two copies for personal use. The parts themselves are still worth more than $300, buddy.

If you were buying them new, possibly, but buying them used implies not only normal depreciation due to time, but also a cost reduction based on the risk that they were overclocked and run out of spec... Also, even if they weren't run out of spec, their lifespan has been reduced by the amount of time that you've run them.

I give you that, but at the rate hardware tech increases, lifespan is hardly a factor anymore. Computers become completely out of date before they die on anyone due to normal use. If anyone was wondering, none of the hardware was ever overclocked and the system was always kept well under optimal operating temps with all the air flowing throw it. $300 is still a bit of a low-ball for all the hardware.

I'm questioning if this really does any good on the fps games. Hell I've got a 3.2, 1gig @533, 6800GTO and mine isn't that great. I doubt anything with a 400 fsb and a 128 card is gonna handle those games..btw

that's mostly what i play, and it hasn't failed me. 60fps on fps games is all you need to not notice any lag. even in hl source i've not had lag.

Thanks for the bids, still going.
Would like $375 for it all, but willing to consider if it gets close.

yes, that is what i was trying to do...

Like I said, of course its not gonna run anything new playable at high settings, but it will at medium/good settings with no problem. I used it, I play new games, I know.

375?? you gotta be kidding man.
Firstly its 1 1/2 years old, 400fsb wont handle shit, it may run those games you mentioned but not close to settings that those games deserve to be played on, 30 gb hard disk makes the system worth even less, the graphics card isnt great and i know from experience that the cool master jet is rather ineffecitve and can be loud at times.

you should consider selling by parts, ill bid on the ram for sure, and you should be able to sell the other stuff for a good price.

i've checked out all the prices online on this gear used and then took some off of that, so this is a very fair price.

^^ it has never frozen, not even once.

Sorry guys, this is completely my fault, I forgot to include the cpu in the price. I don't know how. Looking for $550 for the whole system. If you think its too much look online for the cheapest prices on all these parts used and you'll come up with something around $700.
