I have wondered, if, as a fund raiser, you could do the following
Car/truck whatever
clean it
Do one side with nice wax, other side with crappy wax. Line of tape down the middle
Let folks, in exchange for $5 or so, shoot a 30-50 round microhopper of paintballs at it
After a few hours water hsoe off car Wipe car then clean car
I think that would work as a good demo for an auto detail shop or the like to show how the mroe expensive surface coats are worth it as far as easier return to shine after takign a beating, easier to clean, ect. Plus would involve lots of cheap wallmart brand paintballs, a few tarps, and a very light or very dark colored vehicle to make the remnants after a spray and wipe mroe evident
And cmon, it would make a load of money, esp at $5 for 50 shots, when a 2000 round case sells for 30. Say 2 20's with the gun turned down to a lower velocity to keep gas consuption down, you are out all of 40 bucks for 2000 shots, they pay 200, 160 to pay for wash / wax/ time
Assuming you do this at a event, that measn you need to get all of 8 folks to shoot to break even on having the paintball gear vrs jsut having the split down the middle demo car.
Any opinions? 1/31/2006 8:41:07 PM |

Haha... that reminds me of the time I went out to a paintball area and parked my old toyota too close to the edge of the woods. When I got back, it had paint ball spatter all over the hood. Boy, did I ever regret doing that. I never knew paint balls could do so much damage. Now it has little white specs all over the car. 2/1/2006 9:33:44 AM |
