haha i'd really like to revamp my entire site, ground-up -- hopefully i can devote some time this weekend to it. i agree that my presentation of work isn't great. (unless you meant the actual content of the projects)...

Here are a couple of portfolio's that are really nice, granted they aren't standalone sites.

But they show what a good print portfolio can/should be and that can be translated online.

ID is definitely about process and stages because often times projects don't see actual full-scale mass-production? (at least for student work?)

I guess that was one of the appeals of GD for me -- the instant gratification of having something printed or launched online -- versus going through the steps of getting something OKed for production in a factory eventually.

I'm not saying one is better than the other, but that's got to be why someone could justify 6 sketches of the same project in their portfolio, if they were in ID?

ID is one of the few design majors where technical freehand drawing ability is absolutely stressed, at least here. And yea it's DEFINITELY about the process. Which is what I LOVE.

gotcha. definitely something to be said about that. actually, i suppose architecture and landscape architecture put tons of stress on the process as well.

Except we are able to actually put our ideas from brain to paper without a computer.

And we can draw circles and curves.
