i use to live there. i give it an excellent rating. but keep in mind i lived there about 3-4 yrs ago- right after it was built and only for a year. the only thing is they told us the floors and ceilings was concrete b/t floors so we won't hear other units- which is most like BS. otherwise good though 2/2/2006 9:42:21 PM |

I live here not but am moving out tommorrow. They are pretty nice places but everytime my lease ended they wanted to go up on the rent even if I signed a lease longer than the previous one. They kepy saying how the rental market was getting more and more expensive which is fine but they really do nothing to "keep" you once your lease ends. 2/2/2006 10:32:26 PM |

hmmm...that's interesting, i'll ask about that when I speak to them
how much is the rent hike usually?

yeah i stayed there for a year... rent was at 820 for a nice 2bedroom... when my lease was running out, they would only charge me $100 more a month for the same appt if I signed their longest lease, or else it would be $200 more
I wasnt too pleased by the management, they pretty much tried to get you there and didnt do much to keep you there
The apartments were nice though, and a decent location - if you're willing to put up with the traffic (since they're widening tryon AND piney plains, and it looked like they're adding more shopping/offices by/behind circuit city; not to mention the whole US1/64 fiasco)
Im sure you can find something cheaper, and still not live with "gangster/white trash neighbors" 2/2/2006 11:36:02 PM |

I lived there for a year and really enjoyed the apartment. The management is about the best you can expect from an apartment community. That said, it's not perfect. They are expensive, but the location is great, and they're decent sized. 2/2/2006 11:38:58 PM |

The only thing that is turning me off is the whole up-ing the rent thing...anyone know a way to have them not do that? If I mentioned it before I signed the first lease do you think they would change it if I said I wouldn't sign a lease without signing something that stated renewals would all be at the same rent? Or would they just laugh and send me on the way? 2/3/2006 6:21:53 PM |

~1k a month! and a STRICT 2 pet policy, most places let me have 2 cats and a dog, but that place said no way, and I'd never find anyone that would let me get away with it

they'll laugh. you can only put your foot down when it comes time for renewing.2/4/2006 10:06:38 PM |

i lived at TLAC the first year it was open. our rent for a 2BR on the 2nd floor was $795/mo. same thing as stated above, mgt wanted to raise the rent. it would have been $875 if we had renewed. i was working on campus at the time, so it was semi-convenient, plus i liked being away from students (weren't that many then, don't know if it's changed.) 2/4/2006 11:22:39 PM |
