it's her, she has taught it before. I think what she said the first day was that this is the first time she's taught it in a while. I'm in this class, but I also had it with her 2 Falls ago (dropped it a little after the second exam).

i was in the class two falls ago too. i feel sorry because she's just out there. i dunno...too hippie for me. it took us a while to figure out she wasn't a lesbian. i guess she just doesn't use the word "husband" because it's not gender neutral.

yeah.. i wondered that on the first day when she referred to her "partner". but then i saw her and her "partner" walking their two dogs and was like.. oh, husband... but maybe they aren't married which is why she refers to him as her partner.

she was on primetime live or some show when i was in the class about how she raises her kids gender neutral. they filmed her in the class, but i skipped that day and i never got to see the actual taping. bummer.

sure she SAYS she raises her kids gender neutral but ask what their names are - not gender neutral

woman is batty as hell and dumb as a rock...i hated every second of that horrid class

i also thought she was a lesbian because she said "partner" but nope...she's married

i definitely think she overestimates how much women are "equal" to men, but she seems super nice, and i dont mind the hippy part cause i have my own hippy tendencies, i just think she makes the class to god damn hard

i thought the exam was a little too hard

i think the hardness of it came from the wording, a lot of questions were worded a bit hard

i was the one wearing the white hat and gray hoodie- one of the questions was like word for word from the book companion online website, something like "what time period is a marital couple most happy"...online the answer was honeymoon period, that wasnt a choice

the choices were like "retiring", "empty nest", "having first child", and something else

i had "first child" at first, but after talking to her i thought about it and said i wanted to change my answer and she said good idea...i ended up putting empty nest but i hope she takes that question away

yeah, i thought it was a little hard too. for a lot of questions, i could narrow it down to two answers, but i couldn't figure out which of those was the "best" answer.

^^^^ yeah first child is the worst. I was stuck between empty nest and retired, but was leaning more toward empty nest so i went with that

yeah i figure retirement isnt gonna be til your 65 so i mean that doesnt seem most probable for the happiest time of the marrage

i put retirement because on the graph in the online notes there was a HUGE dip for children, a small dip for empty nest and then up after that. I thought there were quite a few questions that were ambiguous or open to interpretation.

ok for all those that are in the class and read this...in your opinion, are most of the students in this class doing bad?

i got there really early for the exam(thought it was at 8:beatup and like 4 of us were talking on how we thought no one in the class was doing that well and that we didnt know anyone that thought the class was easy and was doing good

i think it was too much work for just one class

my test scores were B's and if i did a writing assignment or quiz I got full credit. This class was tough though. They had possibly the best multiple choice tests (from a teachers standpoint) that i've ever taken. You had to know the material very well and be able to apply it, not just memorizing the stuff. There was no bullshiting through any of the tests. One thing i think that made it difficult was the extent of the material covered. There was a lot. There was also a lot you got out of just the class or just the text it seemed. So those who only did one or the other for any particular section probably didn't do well in that area.

I got an 80 and a 93 and did the 5 quizzes and 6 writing assignments.... i mean it's ALOT of material and the sutff is tough but i've definitely had much much harder classes.

i did 2 quizzes and 6 papers, i did great on the first test but shitty on the second

it just seemed like if you got behind there was no way to catch up cause you gotta read up for the weekly paper to do that, AND THEN go back and read what you missed, then hope the day you go to class is a quiz

i guess i dont think the class was hard, i just think there was too much material to juggle with my other classes

[Edited on May 8, 2006 at 6:39 PM. Reason : in summary, i hope she curves the fuck out of it, and i hope my guesses were right]

well...you can actually get by without doing any of the reading....but not doing those writing assignments or quizzes can really hurt your grade.
