i mean i can modify the fuel map / boost map in a hex editor + update crc values, but i really dont know how to propperly tune an ecu

with a different car -- the way i would imagine going about doing it
unmarry from your car
marry to my car with 06 image
- i will then copy image off with my hardware
unmarry from my car [restores stock image [except VIN is fucked up in flash]
marry back to your car with whatever image
then i can reflash the 06 image with my hardware

im sure cobb does not support this

Oh, plus, I don't think an 04 AP will work on your 06 (even with unmarrying it)... atleast, that's the general consensus in the COBB website forum.
