so i know you all saw awhile ago that he took out a full page ad in his hometown's biggest newspaper. well it has been confirmed that Chamberlin is for sure back in as well as the second bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur has said she is in if the original does not return.

You can't spell DICE without D'arcy and Iha.

it didnt say Iha wasnt going to be a part of it, just that she didnt know if Corgan had approached him. so we can hope for now still. I would still go see them live if they came through regardless

well i was saving myself but since you mention it:

honestly i think smashing pumpkins kinda suck...they got like 3 great songs i like that i sometimes hear on the radio but thats it

the rat in a cage one, and i forget the others

but overall its a pretty shitty group

heh. thats not even close to one of my favorite songs by them. Siamese Dream is a nearly perfect album. One that i can listen to over and over and over and have been for years and i never really tire of it.

too many good albums/songs to list from me

if they can get a less whiny singer for the second go-round, that'd be nice.

hahahahah i wouldn't engage in a conversation about music with Josh

dude was like 10 when the pumpkins were killin it.

probably one of the best and most unique modern rock bands of the last 20 years.

yes thats true. even with my dislike of billy corgan's voice, i'd rather here their original sound rather than the same rehashed crap thats all over the radio.

one of my favorite groups (and favorite of a few of my friends). if the only song you know is "the rat in a cage one" then you are competely out of your element. that's probably my least favorite single they had. i'm not sure how i feel about them getting back together. i love billy's work with the pumpkins, so it seems like this is the only way he'll go back to making music like before. as long as he continues to innovate, and as long as i can see them play a couple more times i'll be happy.

i cant really see this working without iha involved.

although im glad him and chamberlin are writing new material.

i expected a lot more from billy corgan's solo effort.

i would be nice if all artists understood that all other artists are self absorbed little shits and got over it to make great stuff 24/7

i'm excited, but it better not suck, or i'll be really upset

i hope iha shows up, and i hope it's rock again and not adore or machina type stuff. I liked those albums, but I want more rock. they rocked too hard to waste their time on industrial

Cat's Cradle, "Once in a While", fucking ACE.

AND James came out and played "Be Strong Now".

I was at ^ that show, too. I have one of Jimmy's sticks from that one.

I believe after I bought that album, it didn't leave my CD player (5 disc changer) for about 7 years.
Best rock album of the 90s, bar none. One of the best ever.

sp is easily top 5 band of our lifetime if not #1. i'm just happy to have the chance to see them again. Saw them 12 years ago and that shit was amazing.

My favorite group ever - I only hope that they can convince Iha and D'Arcy to come back (although I wouldn't be crying if Melissa Auf Der Maur was there instead).

I've been listening to Siamese Dream throughout the work day since I heard the news

It's good, but it's one of the weaker songs on Siamese Dream.
In order:
Mayonaise
Hummer
Rocket
Soma
Geek USA
Quiet
Cherub Rock
Silverfuck
Disarm
Today
Spaceboy/Luna
Sweet Sweet

Billy Corgan has a HORRIBLE FUCKING VOICE!!!!!!
Holy christ, just because you aren't tone deaf, that doesn't mean you should be allowed to sing!
That "Tonight" song, where he sings, "TOOONNIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE." What the hell?!? Nails on chalkboard anyone?

flame on
