Okay, so my computer just started acting up. It randomly reboots after < 5 minutes of use and sometimes it fails to recognize the system disk on bootup when it's listing devices. Further, I cannot access the BIOS. I press DEL and all it gives me is a blank screen for eternity.
Anyone got a clue wtf happened? Also, any advice/similar experiences/etc? Thanks. 2/6/2006 3:18:29 PM |

I concu-- wait, so, is there a solution for the bad BIOS image, short of having a new interesting paperweight? And/or a clue as to why it went *pfft* - I haven't been poking around there.
As for heat, it's probable, but I keep my house pretty cold and it's been working fine up till now, so why the sudden overheating? I went around and air-cleaned the interior, which wasn't bad - I've had some heat issues before just due to mess, but nothing so bloody regular. All fans appear to be doing their things, etc. 2/6/2006 4:06:31 PM |

i doubt its your bios unless you've attempted to flash it recently. i recommend updated the bios to the latest version first to see if that realy is the problem, go online to find out the best way to do that in your current situation and go from there. 2/7/2006 8:52:36 AM |
