i just replaced the battery in my ipod mini, and now the click wheel doesn't work, so it's basically out of comission at the moment. the hold button still seems to work. charging of the battery works too. anyone know what's going on?

ps:when connected to my computer it still works and i can use it to listen to songs.

eh. if you did the battery replacement yourself you might check to see if something got bumped and/or disconnected

first reset it atleast once..

said the clickwheel wasn't working, he won't be able to reset like that. probably have to take the battery back out to reset it

^is there some way that the click wheel has to be connected? cause all i did was reconnect whatever i disconnected to begin with. btw i am able to reset it without having to take the battery out. i do it by having the ipod connected to the wall outlet charger and then toggeling the hold button. then holding anywhere on the click wheel and after that taking it out of hold. it seems to reset then but still doesn't fix it.

well, the unconnected wheel was assuming it didnt work at all
if you can reset it by pushing the buttons then there wouldnt seem to be much wrong with the connection
looking at http://i16.ebayimg.com/02/i/06/28/5b/ab_1.JPG its just a single ribbon cable, if you're sure you put it in correctly then that shouldnt be a problem

updating the firmware would be another thing to try

you could email apple tech support, not sure how helpful they'll be but it could be worth a shot
there are also a few hundred forums out there that specialize in ipod stuff, they might beable to help

at the end of the video, i see the ipod turn on and i see him touch the wheel to scroll and low and behold nothing moves. to me it looks like that his scroll wheel doesn't work either
