lowering springs in my 99 eclipse.

Please PM so we can meet, and also include your labor.

I already have the parts / springs, they are Tein S-Tech Coil springs

Iam keeping my shocks so all i need is just the springs to be put in.

Thanks

Zak

Here's an idea: Learn to do it yourself. I did that and found the experience far more rewarding.

I did mine, but then again, I have access to a full garage w/ lift and a wall-mount spring compressor. I wouldnt wanna try it without the wall-mount spring compressor. Those dinky little clip compressors you buy at AutoZone are suicide.

those tools from autozone will eat a whole in your hand. gloves + racheting wrenches are what got me through it. still took fucking FOREVER

That's what an impact gun is for.

But still, those hand compressor sets are indeed suicide. But I'm stupid enough to use them all the time.

i use the two big bolts w/ hooks type of compressor a lot. an impact def makes life easy, but a 1/2" ratchet normally isnt any harder.. just slower.

ill do it for $100

tein s-techs are usually not that extreme of a drop, his stock shocks should be fine

I ran h&r race springs on my 03 si with stock shocks and they lasted ~20k miles before they started to show signs of wear

yea about 1.3-1.5 inch drop... thats more than enough considering how low the car already is

the lowering issue is more about proper shaft length. the wearing issue is due to spring rate

hand compressor + impact gun works, but you gotta be careful

if you can't afford shocks, you should just wait because you will have to pay someone to remove and reinstall them again not too far down the road.

VERY good point. The labor is the same whether or not you replace springs when doing struts. However, you still have to pay that very same labor to replace just the springs.

Why pay it twice, especially if you can live with it like it is for a little while.

if you are leaving the country, having a car with lowering springs and stock shocks is NOT going to raise the value for selling it. more than likely, you'll lower the value if you disclose the information.

all signs point to don't do it.
sell the springs and drive the car, sell it in a few months and be done with it.
use the money from the springs to take care of your ticket problems.

goddamn nigger is too stupid to do the work himself and too cheap to pay someone else to do it.

you better use the proceeds from the auction towards the first payment on the 100 dollars you owe me, fag
