those things brought in money like a mofo

naw, at the beginning build a few floors of offices, then go away for a day, and leave the game running. come back several hours later and you've got unlimited money.

offices good for money, condos good for population

im having trouble keeping the office people happy with my huge tower, the condo people are easier to handle.......

I could never keep the condo people happy. For some reason the housekeeping did -nothing- for the condos, so they would all get dirty, and the residents would then get pissed and leave. So I just stuck with offices for most of the tower.

ya gots to put in restrants and pubs ans such in with the offices like 3 or 4 rows of offices and than a row off restrants and then a cinema and then some condos and elevators and program the elevators to just stop on cartin flors and if you dig to the bottom somewhere there is like 500,000 dallars for you

well the problems start to come when you run out of elevator shafts.

each one has a huge load, and im sure the timing comes into play more. can't get that down

Yea you have to be able to maximize the use of the elevators, which can be very fucking complex. When you start building really high up you have to use the express elevator floors and also have to adjust the flow of your elevators by the time. If they are near your hotel rooms, you need to have them go only to those floors in the evening and sit at the lobby. In the AM you need them to reposition to the hotel floors and wait their for their traffic to go down. At the same time you have to balance your elevators for the office crowds, the people constantly using them for the condos and coming in from the subway and going shopping, eating, etc. etc.

Damn ya'll motherfuckers. I'm gonna build a 3.7 ghz system this weekend and the first fucking thing I'm gonna pop in and play is fucking SimTower.

bbehe, noice

do you use service vators? i haven't found them to be very useful, the housekeepers go down the normal vators...

as far as offices condos and hotel etc, what do you use the most?

didn't use any service elevators at all, just put 2 house keeping suites on all the floors with hotels.

Mostly used hotel suites and offices

I think we need to get a petition going to get them to do a new SimTower, but using a fully 3D engine. Wouldn't that be sweet to fly through your tower, or better yet they could do it like The Sims, where your tower interacts with other skyscrapers nearby. They could even take a page from Sim Golf or Theme Park and you have to purchase your land or maybe even an old tower and fix up or something. Wouldn't that be the shit to have a virtual city that people could start off in the outskirts of town where the land was cheaper, and as they made money on their towers you could sell them off and buy into downtown where you can build even bigger towers (city zoning restrictions or something could be used to limit tower size in the beginning of the game) and then you could buy property that was adjacent to a subway line, allowing you to build your own platform. They could also simulate disasters much like SimCity like having to deal with wind damage, earthquakes, and if they wanted to be a little edgy, security from terrorists, whether searching vehicles in your underground parking lot, to searching people for bombs to destroy elevators or your subway station, or even the dreaded suicide planes (maybe build SAM missile sites on top).

Now something like that would be very much relative to today and be quite enjoyable in my opinion.
