hell yeah, so as of right now we have a bye, play the winner of VA. vs. VA Tech, and dont have Carolina, Duke, or Miami in our draw.

Ive been wondering about this as well. I like that format. It seems to be fair, giving the top four a reward. But at least ALL of our teams make it unlike the Big East.

but the other factor with tourny time is you're playing back to back. there's not much rest between games so anything can really happen. for example...state played their hearts out and beat maryland in 2002 i believe it was...which was enough for them to get to the final game against duke. BUT, 2nd half state ran out of gas. they played awesome first but couldn't finish the task.

any lower seed playing thursday, man they'll be exhausted come sunday...sucks to be them.

hell, my ass will be exhausted merely from all the cheering i'm going to be doing.

actually have confidence in sendek during acc tourney time. Second only to coach K in acc tourney wins (always a bridesmaid..)

It'll be cool to face teams we have beaten already up until the final.

oh definitely. the first tourny i went to was when he took state to the final against duke i was just speaking of.

don't forget sendek took the likes of justin gainey, jeremy hyatt, and c.c. harrison (the #8 seed in the ACC tourney) through three games (Cremins-led Georgia Tech, Duke, and Maryland) and all the way to the acc final against carolina in '97 where we lost 64-54

they only reason state lost that one is because we had played four games in four days, and just ran out of gas down the stretch

also see: the jj redick show (when he was a freshman) in second half the '03 ACC tournament final, state played really well that game too, only to lose 84-77 - the year where josh powell went off in the ACC tourney and bolted for the pros, setting the whole program back at least a year imo

herb has been to the acc final three times in nine years; considering what he started with, that's pretty damn good

Seems unlikely to me too for Miami to drop that low. I'd see the 7 seed being UVA or FSU, and the 10 being Clemson or Wake.

Yeah all I did was look at who they had beat and who they had on their schedule remaining. It is brutal. They are likely to lose 4 straight started by us.

Yeah their style of basketball is good for upsets, but it cant beat anyone consistently. Their strategy is to penetrate with the guards and throw up some bullshit hoping either a) it goes in or b) they get fouled. It almost worked against us, it sure as hell worked against UNC, and will probably work once or twice more this season. They just shoot the hell out of the ball and hope it goes in. There is nothing consistent about their offense, and its ugly.
