Furthermore, you'd have to be a complete simpleton to believe that the government doesn't try it's best to spread misinformation. It is possible for intelligence to find out about terrorist plans. We can't know the number of foiled attack plans that have occurred since the war began and, if terrorists were based where the fighting has taken place, they have very possibly had to move to safer regions, thus interrupting their progress.

After attacking Afghanistan al Qaeda was fractured, but it's never been simply one central organization. Multiple terrorists can make attacks in the name of the group. I wouldn't put it past al Qaeda's followers to continue trying to attack the US b/c that is their goal - to kill Americans and others that aren't militant Muslims (but with emphasis on the US). They're very passionate, and that's part of the danger.

Basically don't call Bush (and others) a quack without thinking more critically about the issue.

The information in the second paragraph of my post was by no means a pointless opinion, but information based upon multiple resources from people whose careers are studying, analyzing, and writing about terrorism. I also based my opinion in the first paragraph on my studies so far.
