Do you have to put a deposit slip in with your check if you're going to deposit at a SECU atm?
Thanks in advance. 2/14/2006 12:38:20 PM |

The LD folks that run Wachovia are wholly uncapable of accepting a deposit through the ATM. At least they were before I pulled all of my money out of their bank. 2/14/2006 2:42:13 PM |

^^where the hell do you bank? mine always posts at the end of the next business day, and i have up to $100 of that deposit available to withdraw immediately. ^i've had good luck with wachovia so far. after being with bb&t for my checking for ~5-6 years, i switched. bb&t used to be good, but turned in to a bunch of morons and their customer service was horrible.

Around 2000 Wachovia put a limit on teller transactions on the college account. If you used it more than twice per month they charged $5 per use, so I had to start using the ATM for deposits.
Over the course of around 6 months during that time period I had about 7 or 8 checks get "lost." So basically, the money would post to my account, I'd start spending it, and then they would pull the money out and hit me with overdraft fees. Then they would investigate it, find the checks, re-post the money and I'd still have to call and bitch to get the overdraft fees removed.
I was working a p/t delivery job, so this happened at various Wachovia branches around Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham. I asked repeatedly if I were making a mistake somehow (on how the envelope was filled out) and they always said it was their fault.
As soon as I got a real job I moved all my money to a credit union. I have kept my Wachovia account open for all these years with $7.62 in checking. They still mail me a statement every month. lol.
That's just my experience and the reason I'll never do any business with Wachovia. I've talked to people with similar experiences, but I'm sure there are just as many that are happy with them.

i've always done the ATM deposit with the credit union. they always have a pile of deposit envelopes at the ATM so it's never been a problem and has always worked out for me. it's kind of impossible to see a teller when you work 8-5 anyway. 2/14/2006 6:14:19 PM |

I hear BB&T is pretty awesome. Libertarian owners. They lose a few cool points for being Ayn Rand fans, but hey, they run a good bank.
I always put a deposit slip with deposits. I've also never had SNAFUs in deposit processing. *shrug* 2/15/2006 3:31:29 PM |

Wachovia:
1. Grab deposit envelope 2. Sign check and put in envelope 3. Insert ATM Card in machine 4. Select Deposit and Withdrawl 5. Profit (well, not really, but instant money) 2/15/2006 4:12:12 PM |

I second (or third, rather) SECU. They are always really quick with deposit slips. Always in the next day. 2/15/2006 6:47:12 PM |
