1) It is a '95 T5R... the suede seat bits are nice.

2) Nothing has broken yet on the 944, but it's still being painted currently. The list of mechanical problems with it is a weak altrenator and a small coolant leak from the reservoir side - prob. a hose.

3) Yeah, I tried to think of a fun 4 door japanese car as the DD, but there wasn't anything in that price bracket.

Effective total cost will be just under $6k, meaning I paid a bit less than that, but NC taxes added a bit, however it came with a set of snow tires/wheels that are being sold to subtract a bit of cost as well.
