Isiah is the worst General Manager of all time. (crippled the Knicks for the forseeable future)

Isiah is the worst head coach of the decade. (got nothing out of some talented Indiana teams)

Isiah is one of the worst owners of all time. (bankrupted the CBA in a flash)

Why would you employ this guy for anything? Because he smiles?

"
The Bobcats have 13 wins and the Knicks have 14 wins. According to hoopshype.com, Charlotte's 2005-06 payroll is $33.4 million, while New York's payroll is $125.9 million. Not including team options on younger players, Charlotte has $21.8 million in guaranteed salaries committed for 2007; $14.2 million committed in 2008; and $0.0 million in 2009. New York's guaranteed money looks like this: $110.3 million (2007); $49 million (2008); and $45 million (2009). Also, the Bobcats kept all their first-round picks through the decade, while New York gives Chicago its 2006 lottery pick and switches first-rounders with the Bulls in 2007 (with the Knicks getting the lower pick).

To recap: For that one extra win, the Knicks spent four times as much money, killed their cap flexibility through 2009 and gave away any chance of having a top-five pick in the next two years. On the bright side, Eddy Curry has gained enough weight this season that he might start wearing jackets to cover his rear end during games, kinda like how Oprah dresses when she's in the middle of one of her eating binges. So that will be fun.

(God bless the Isiah Era. We'll be talking about this for decades. I really believe that.)"

Ha ha that is hilarious. Isiah Thomas is more overrated than Larry Brown.

Overrated? He has been the laughingstock of the NBA for almost a decade now...

He's HORRIBLE....

Look at the people he's acquired... Jerome James, Quentin RIchardson, Eddy Curry, Jamal Crawford... there's a reason no one wanted these guys...

Then he just gives guys like Nazr Mohammed & Kurt Thomas away...

He also has a knack for ridding himself of expiring contracts and draft picks.

Seriously, how hard is it to watch a basketball player for 30 minutes and figure out if he's good or if he sucks?

I could do a better job than 50% of NBA GM's without a doubt, but even my mother could do better than Isiah.

I HONESTLY THINK LARRY BROWN IS NOT OVERRATED....HE WILL WIN.....HE DOESN'T LIKE THIS TEAM AT ALL...HE IS BUYING HIS CHANCE TO GET MORE CONTROL OF THE TEAM.....THE MORE IT FAILS NOW THE BETTER CHANCE OF HIM GAINING MORE CONTROL IN THE FUTURE

"Stevie Franchise"?

How about "Stevie Lottery pick"?

As in, if this guys in your backcourt, you're getting a lottery pick.

it happened

fancIS (ok?) for hardaway and ariza

so the knicks trade hardaway's 15 mil contract that expires after this season for francis' three year 49 mil contract

Francis will come around and produce, hopefully

at the very least he'll be trade bait for later

So i would say in the long run, Knicks win out

we'll see

Now the Knicks have another shoot-first guard. Another guy who puts up great stats while his team loses.

Isaiah is an idiot.

i'd rather have cap room than francis as trade bait. and the thing is, ariza isn't that bad. funny stuff, thomas is definitely the worst GM ever. i mean, i could see picking up a big man equally as talented as francis to add to this team, but why the hell get another shooting guard when you have marbury, crawford, quentin, etc etc etc etc?

Quote :
"Pippen on Francis Deal

I am pretty much befuddled with what New York has done.

I am not a great fan of Steve Francis. He rubbed me the wrong way when he came into the league and demanded that Vancouver trade him. He just isn't the type of player that can make your team better or that can get you where you are trying to get to. He is very talented, but his skills are built around his individual success and not around the success of a team.

Any time you take on such a brilliant nickname as "Franchise," that name has to have some validity behind it and I don't think he has shown that he is a franchise player. It is not going to work for him even moving to New York.

This is another in a long list of desperate moves for the Knicks, going back to the Eddy Curry deal. Eddy Curry's success coming to New York has been about as good as my success coming back to Chicago when my career was pretty much done. He hasn't made any impact on that team, which, I am sure for John Paxson, is the best thing to happen. He just let his No. 1 draft pick go and got another one back. It was a good wash for them, because they didn't lose that draft pick. They sort of gambled on it, played with it, let it go, but then they got it back.

Isiah has brought in players on top of players. He isn't giving one player an opportunity to succeed. You have Stephon Marbury there. Then you bring in Jamal Crawford. Now Steve Francis.

What are you going to do with these guys?

These are three guys that love to pound the basketball and create their own shots. Who is going to succeed at that position? To me it seems like they have just told Isiah to just go out there and continue to see if we can have the highest payroll.

I don't see any chemistry with New York. I don't see that trade helping the Knicks in any way and as for Orlando, they have written this season off and are preparing themselves to continue rebuilding their young team. They want to get guys in there that can in the next three or four years be part of what they have been able to establish.

It is going to be the same type of situation. A lot of it has to do with the individual players. Players in today's game are not geared for winning. They aren't geared for a team concept. They're basically trying to get into the game and they have no knowledge as to what the game is really about."

I still like the NBA. However, being a Knicks fan since the time I moved to NC (I moved the day of Game 2 of the '99 Finals) has turned me off to it. I can't stand to watch Dolan and Isiah run the team into the ground anymore. It's so frustrating.

They need to learn from what the Rangers did and follow suit.. I still can't believe a Dolan team is actually going with hard working, lower paid players like the Rangers are. I know it's not that easy but I think the Knicks can at the very least take a bit from what their arena-mates are doing..

[Edited on February 24, 2006 at 9:12 AM. Reason : oh I've been a Knicks fan forever but since '99 it's sucked.. just to be clear..]

Man, they've given up all their cap space and draft picks for the next 3-5 years.... that franchise is fucked.

If i were you I'd pick a surrogate team and if anyone wants to give you hell for it tell them to die.

Their is no law of fandom that states you must root for a team that is intentionally trying to build a loser.
