It's a 50' length too, or something.

If I remember correctly, the best buy kit had a crimper and a couple RJ-45 connectors in it.

Still a ripoff, but you can get it faster than ordering over the interweb.

and yes, cat6e will work in your network.

500' Cat5e - $40
RJ-45 Crimp Tool - $40
Package of 50 RJ-45 Plugs - $25
Never having to worry about needing to get patch cable ever again - priceless.

also, you might pick up some modular wall data jacks if you want to make it look good.

or, instead of spending $105 on a shit-ton of cable i don't need, i can just find someone who has and give them like $5 for what i need.

bookstore has 25' cat 5e cables for 11.99 and 50' cables for 17.99

Still more expensive than making them yourself... but much cheaper than bestbuy.

yes, the difference between it and cat5 are the way the wires are twisted. For your purposes, there won't be any difference between it and cat5.

lowe's sells cat5 cable for a lot less than breast buy/circuit shitty/compusa.

Wolf, try TWW Search if you don't get an immediate answer here. I know kylekatern used to do it, and there are others as well who have advertised they will do it.

Going rate was (is?) $0.25/ft. Bookstore prices look like $0.36/ft for the 50ft and $0.48/ft for the 25ft. Your call how cheap you need/want to do. I'd just the pay the extra $6 if its something you need immediately and 50ft is long enough.
