i dont plan on watching this whole thing but im waiting for someone to answer "yes, that is exactly what happened." and then the interviewer asking for proof...thus debunking his own theory as well.

That video is not so much hilarious as it is frustrating and sad that people will watch it and actually believe their arguments. I only saw the first 6 minutes or so, but there was ample material just there to discredit the entire video. It is built on false pretenses and arguments. People who view this who don't have science backgrounds, or simple critical thinking skills for that matter, cannot see through the fallacies, then they walk around with a chip on their shoulder thinking they've one-upped "the evolutionists" and are beating them at their own game of proving/dis-proving how the world works.
The points from the first 5 minutes that I can still remember - when he brought up the "they take it on faith" thing, I honestly was confused. I did not fully grasp that they were actually using that argument against scientists. It takes some big balls to stand there and say that scientists, who's job is to investigate and prove how things work, rely on faith, where their own entire position is based on faith and faith alone. - They just love mixing up the concepts of the Big Bang and how the universe was created and "evolved", if you will, and the Theory of Evolution, of how life was created and evolved on earth. The two are completely unrelated, except for the fact that at some point the planet had to be in a state to support the appearance of life. I seriously doubt most biologists or geneticists know or care about how the universe was formed, nor do relative physicists sit around and wonder about the structure of DNA and how it mutates. - The "experts" they asked appeared to be normal people on the street with above average knowledge of biology, but certainly far from expert knowledge. If any of them had been experts, they would have immediately spotted the red herring question of "do you believe that humans evolved from apes?" An expert would have immediately said that is a false question and the Theory of Evolution makes no such claim anyway - we came from a common ancestor that is long extinct and probably doesn't exactly resemble anything living today.
Shit, i'm going to stop wasting my time on pointing out the obvious that 90% of you have hopefully picked out on your own…. 2/17/2006 6:35:16 AM |

not to mention, in the first 2 minutes, they got the entire Big Bang completely wrong. he says "there was no creator, no space, no energy, no matter. there was nothing. and there was this big bang, and out came the sea and the land."
umm, no, actually, there was everything - all the universe's energy and matter all in one place, in a singularity. Energy was converted to matter, but nothing was created or destroyed. The universe's sum total of energy + matter was the same before and after the big bang.

oh, awesome - i just saw the part on the "common designer" who used "similar blueprints" to create man and ape. I was almost rooting for them there, they were just one word off. "Common ancestor" Kirk, not "common designer". ooohhhh, so close.
and the airplane example is nice too. "Did a 747 'evolve' from a bi-plane? No, of course not. They just had similar blueprints." Besides the obvious absurdity of comparing genetic evolution to frickin' airplanes, actually, yes - the 747 did "evolve" from the bi-plane. If I recall, the Wright Brother's airplane was, in fact, a bi-plane. It was also the first airplane to fly. Seeing as all subsequent airplane were based on the original's principles, and the 747 came along some 60 years later, then yes, you just witnessed the evolution of the airplane in less than 100 years. 2/17/2006 3:26:58 PM |

congrats - they did get one thing right. "This isn't because [the ape] is a prehistoric man who is less evolved than us. But it's because he's another species" Ding ding ding! we have a winner
whoops, they inadvertantly stumbled upon Truth #2 in the last minute. "Go to wayofthemaster.com, and get ahold of The Evidence Bible. It's packed full of tools." yep, not gonna argue with that one

well...when non-believers go to hell and believers go to heaven, and evolutionists have nothing happen, we'll all have the answer. till then...lets agree to disagree.
one point is clear though...nobody knows how all this shit got started...so we're all as stupid on this subject as the next person.

Proof of theory...
Take glass pitcher... fill it with water... now toss in a hand full of dirt, perferably black soil... watch what happens. DO NOT STIR. Just toss a small handful in.
Now imagine there was no gravity... imagine that everything spread out... did you notice just from what happened in the water that things began to collect together?
This is something that kindergardeners learn about.
Now imagine 100,000,000 years... every single element you can imagine... heat, water all available. Now imagine BILLIONS of years... because that's how long it took for your universe to form. In all that time... in ALL the matter in the universe (Ie... we are like 1.0x10-1000000000) of the known universe in size. That's like .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 % (rounded up a few million spots).
Don't you think... that life could happen? Add in hundreds of millions of years... don't you think... life might occur... that could develop itself over long periods of time? Slow changes? Can you concede it's possibility? Wouldn't that make more sense... based on what we KNOW to be true today with 100% sureness... than an omnipotent being(s) creating this?
I'm not against some ultimate thing... creating the big bang... but EVERYTHING we know scientifically... EVERYTHING we base our sciences on (those which are reproducable) points to a big bang.
Science works by observation and making hypothesis and then proving it within an accepted mean. Meaning that we can reproduce it. Sometimes we can't prove what we "think" is happening but we can predict what happens. Take Chemistry for example... we couldn't "see" the electrons... or the protons and neutrons until VERY recently... but we knew they were there and science progressed. We recognized the behaviour and science progressed.
Religion... whether it be Intelligent Design or another... bases it's core most principles on unreproducable, unverifyable, ... hell the core most principle IS an assumption.
Every single religious person I've met... who fought me... did one of the following. Check yourself if you're religious to see if you've done this.
1) Got frustrated and threw up their hands and said some relgious dogma like (you're going to hell, you have to have an experience to understand, etc)
2) Stopped talking to me cold as I "offended them" by destroying their core beliefs
3) Actually said... holy crap you're right.
I'm not talking evolution here... it has holes sure... but it's sure more believable than ID. I'm talking Creation... I'm talking versus from the bible being conflicting and inaccurate.
The reason society as a whole rejects religion is because it is ALL based off assumption. Science... evolution in particular... is NOT.
Religion... is like "Hey this is how it is... I know it's true because a friend told me".
Science... is like "Hey this is how it is... let me SHOW YOU. Let me prove it to you.".
Game set match.
