My work gave me an old ultra 5, and they said they werent exactly sure what was on it, if anything at all. When I turn it on, nothing happens. The screen seems to get a signal, but nothing comes up. I'm guessing the hdd has been wiped clean.
If that is the case, does anyone know how I can get this up and running, as I am not real familiar with sun hardware/unix. I got this box to get accustomed to unix better than what I already am. 2/17/2006 6:18:58 PM |

^^Yep. Stop-A will get you into the firmware.
Then, you need to install something on it, obviously. If you can get Solaris 10 I'd recommend giving it a try. 2/18/2006 1:31:59 AM |
