fucking AWESOME. all the Clan members were there minus O.D.B (r.i.p), G. awesome show. even the theodore unit was there. oli power was there. killa priest was there. it was bananas, G.






i took a friend (jewish lawyer girl) the whole night she's egging me about going to the show. how awesome it'd be, etc. we get in the show and she goes crazy shouting, screaming, jumping for like 4 hours straight. after the show she's like, "which one was wu-tang and who were all those people on stage". either way AWESOME show . . . MUST SEE!

CAPPADONA WAS THERE. he did winter warz. it was crazy . . . killa priest did alot of verses he appeared on, etc . . . it was an INSANE show. it was so much going on. method man got passed around in the crowd often. weed was everywhere.

saw them open for rage against the machine in charlotte in '97 and in greensboro a year later. met u-god and papa-wu at the waffle after the charlotte show. i went up to shake u-god's hand and he pulled me in for hug. funny guy.

papa-wu was some old guy on stage talking about monkeys swinging from trees. he introduced wu-tang at the show and came out a few times during(not rapping though). he told me he was odb's older brother.

papa-wu was already at the waffle house when we showed up. we were eating when u-god rolled up hanging out of the passenger seat window of a 4runner with 3 women in it. he came in and ordered a waffle to go.

they made the stage look like a street w/ the 1-6-O, a cop car crashed into the side of a building, and a liquor store.

i actually got into wu tang pretty late, in 1996ish right around "Wu Tang Forever," then followed a lot of the solo stuff, as well as getting into "The W" and "Iron Flag" and stuff... but for some reason, I didn't come across Papa Wu.

wu-tang forever is my favorite. the styles were so advanced. enter the wu was just so fucking grimmy. it was everything nyc was about.


but then raekwon came with cuban linx and hiphop as we know it changed. NO ONE can ever rap about drug dealing or drug use after that record. It was the cocaine anthem. i remember doing lines on the CD case.
