Don't live anywhere near the base if you're looking for somewhere nice. If I were you, I'd get like 3-4 guys together and find a really nice house to rent. I lived on Rivers behind Navy Federal for about a year. Rent was a little steep at about $1150 a month, but it was an awesome place... a huge fenced in yard for my dogs, a 2-car garage, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and nearly brand new. Heck, there were a couple places still availible over there when I left. I lived on Whistler Lane in a little culdesac (spelling). It took me about 15 minutes to get to Prototype from there. The rental agency was Scott Hagan Reality if you're interested.
Regardless of where you live, I would HIGHLY recommend not getting an apartment. For a few hundred dollars a month more, you can get so much more. Heck, if you have 4 guys willing to spend $500 a month, you can get an AWESOME place. I would just drive around the area (it's called Eagle's Point) and see if you see any houses for rent, or call a rental company in the area. Good luck and let me know if you need anything else. 2/20/2006 2:43:19 AM |

I am of no help. I live downtown and pretty much never leave the peninsula. 2/20/2006 3:47:52 PM |

If you are looking for something near the base, you will probably want to find something off 526. I would head South instead of north if I were you. North Chuck is kindof a slum. West Ashley is your best bet. 2/22/2006 11:51:33 PM |

I'm currently in Farrington Place in North Charleston, but I am moving back to Raleigh for work. Farrington is right off Rivers. Trying looking for places in Northwoods, a lot of apartment complexes. Jameson Place Apartments have a special now, $765 a month for 2 bedroom. Yeah the houses behind Navy Federal are the shit!
Also, let me get a hell yeah if you think they should put a Wild Wings in Raleigh!
