does any one know how to use this video editor, i have the program but i lost the manual, all i figured out to do was get the video onto the program, now i cant do anything.

Is it possible for you be any more specific on what you would like 'to do' with Premiere Pro? It is an incredibly powerful piece of software, and it really depends on what you want to do.

I find this way too common on this tech talk board. Ask vague, unspecific questions, and you'll get vague, unspecific, and unhelpful answers.

Use Windows Movie Maker. It's installed alredy in Win XP, or get the latest version here

It has a very simple interface and lets you splice, transition, add effects, music, all that. Much much easier than trying to learn any Adobe product

well i have a powerfull program, right now i want to be basic but if i start out slow and then start building up i can do some crazy things in awhile

Don't use Windows Media Maker. That is the worst advice you could ever receive. Premiere Pro is extremely clumsy but you get used to it after a while. If you are editing, break your large file into smaller tidbits using the razor tool, and work from there. If you want transitions, you have to put the "leadout" file on one track and the "leadin" file on another, with the transition in between on another track. PM me if you have any other technical questions. I haven't used it a ton but I've done a couple projects with it. To be honest, I prefer using a MAC for DV editing, simply because it's better built software that doesn't crash much.

^^I completely agree. If you don't understand Premiere, go find a Mac in a lab somewhere and use iDVD or Final Cut Pro. If you HAVE to use windows, go plunk down the $$ on a premiere book.

there are tutorials online you can search for, thats how i learned how to use it,

but if you want a really simple very capable software, then try pinnacle studio,
it is ultra easy from start to finish
