so did Morpheus go to hell trying to save the other two, or did he die, or what?

Sam Niel was much more of a badass in Jurassic Park though.

That movie scared the shit out of me the first couple times I saw it.

And yes...I do think he ended up going to hell (or did the ship blow up?? i forgot).

the part of the ship that blew up was the long ass walkway that connected the forward crew quarters, cockpit, etc to the rear medical, engineering, etc levels at the rear of the ship. you see the blackhole open up that would have taken everyone to hell, but since LF separated him and sam neil from the other three crew members it was just him and SN that "go to hell". he sacrificed himself to save his crew.

yeah, its great on frame by frame

then you really get a feel for it,

i wonder if the brain registers the images quick enough to be disturbed, but not enough to really differentiate some of the quicker, gorier scenes.

yeah I think thats why it fucks me up... is because its so quick that I can't take it all in.

that one part where that ... thing ... is chewing off its own arm just gives me nightmares.

No, I thought it sucked too.
Just a lot of very loud shock and startle cuts. Dumb plot.

^^agreed

I felt very cheated after watching this movie. But the one cutscene of hell with the guy holding his eyes in his palms freaked me the fuck out.

that leads to hell

movie scarred the shit out of me the first time...

the enjoyment of watching it again, is not watching the movie, but the reaction of those who've never seen it.

it was a little out there. the scenes of hell were freaky, but honestly - can 1-2 seconds make an entire movie? i wasn't scared.

Fire extinguishes itself in zero gravity, but they overlooked that for the sake of the plot.

I saw it on SciFi once. I'm guessing a lot of stuff got edited out, but it was good nonetheless.

I can't speak much for Lawrence Fishbourne, but can a movie with Sam Neil in it possibly go wrong?

Pretty much, I believe it was because he was weak-willed and gave in to the dark side (so to speak). He was a depressed due to his dead wife, and he ended up losing the psychological battle for his will, so basically he wasn't strong enough to fight satan/evilness/whatever and started serving it.

why would you sacrifice yourself to hell so your crew could survive? you might feel like you did the right thing for a few seconds, then you'd spend eternity frying.

to create a wormhole you would need something to "rip" the fabric of space, and one theory is that black holes would be a means to that end.
