im just trying to go over everything b4 i make the final decision

for all purposes i'm getting the premium package with black leather and the exterior is the Smoky Granite Mica

the only thing it wont have is the navigation system because i'll never use the fucking thing

also i already know all the basic shit that any moron can read in a car and driver magazine

well yea its an automatic, but that doesnt matter to me

this is bridging me to the supra when it comes out, then i'll care

for now i dont care if its an automatic

and also i drove both the 330 and the lexus350

the 350 owns it on handling

the 350 handles the best? wtf

IS350 is probably one of the worst deals out of cars in its class.

you obviously havent done much research then and have just spouted that off the top of your head

the 330 and 350 are the 2 best cars in that market

they basically score the same

I took both through 2 consecutive S curves at like 60, the IS held better

did you actually drive the 330? If you drove it and you're convinced that you like the IS 350 better, then get it. The new BMW's look like ass though imo.

wow did you look at those road handling index number?

they are all pretty weak.....i would think that today's sports sedan would be able to handle better than a 10-15 year old car.....but an average of mid to low .8x is pretty weak

oh and the bmw was better than the 350

i personally like the looks of the G35 out of all of those and it's the least expensive

when you get in a g35 it is cramped and the interior is nowhere as nice is a bmw or lexus

not to mention it doesnt handle like a 350 or 330

i test drove the g35 also

audi a4 2.0 t.... then call apr-> 300hp audi a4 1.8t with ohlins remote reservoir coilovers and decent wheels pwns all.

ohh and if you stay out of boost you can still get good gas mileage.

[Edited on February 20, 2006 at 10:27 AM. Reason : 2.0 now direct injection pwns too.]

Have you taken a look at the 2006 Acura TSX?

I am heavily biased here because I bought one last December. The TSX really envelopes you in luxury.

It is a 2.4L, 4 cylinder @ 205 HP. Memory seats, heated seats, trip computer with all the bells and whistles, one factory trim option of a voice recognition navigation system, dual climate, +/- shifting, XM radio, full tilt/open moonroof, and the other usual suspects.

One nice feature that is hard to mention is a fully intergrated HandsFreeLink that allows you to link your Bluetooth phone with the car. When I get phone calls it displays signal strength, battery meter, and fully 10 digit number of the person I am calling. It uses a 50 number phone book with voice recognition to "dial" out.

It lists at 28k for the non-nav, 30k for navigation. I know it isn't even in the same competitor class as the IS350, but for what it is worth it certainly warrants taking a look at it. Just adding in my thoughts in case you start balking at the 40k price tag the Lexus carries.

APR doesn't have the BT kit for new 2.0T, but yeah once they get it.....that would be the best choice

I recently drove an E46 330i 5-speed and I really liked it. Why not just get a used one? They are easily found in the mid $20k range with pretty low mileage.

who said anything about big turbo?

they put down close to 300 with only a chip.

if you go this route, also check out GIAC and REVO as they all make comparable software...

GO FOR IT!

Screw the "get a MANUALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!" crowd. It's is overrated, and that's coming from someone who had a manual. Stop & go everyday traffic makes you love an automatic.

Those cars are phat...get the AWD if you need it. Or is that only in the non-300hp version?

it's always pretty weak unless the luxury car makers decide that they don't want to compromise with quiet tires and go for all out grip.

among new cars w/o regard to cost, not bad. but honestly, I think it's pretty silly to buy a new car. Especially if what you want is a lexus. You know a 4-yr old lexus ownership experience is comparable or better than that of a bunch of other brands brand spanking new. But then I'm pretty cheap.

You're not buying a performance car.

So long as you're ok with that then go buy it.
