This may seem like a bizarre request, but does anyone know any nice apartments that are in walking distance to fine dining establishments? A friend of mine is a chef at Gino Russo's Oyster Bar (which I believe is 4 star restaurant). He walks to work, because he has no car.
He's considering finding a new place to live and/or work. I agreed to help him look for a place, but I'm not sure of the best way to begin searching. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks. 2/20/2006 4:52:34 PM |

there are a few fine dining places on glenwood south - there are a few apartments within walking distance also - what do you define as walking distance - 1mile or less? 2/20/2006 4:54:20 PM |

A bike is cheap and can get you a lot farther a lot faster than walking.

Glenwood South does have its nice places, and there are a lot of good apartments within walking distance. Take your pick of nice older places like Cameron Court and Grosvenor Gardens, or newer places with more amenities like the ones across from Fred Fletcher Park (I forget the name of the complex, they're on Washington Street). 2/20/2006 7:33:22 PM |

Thanks for the suggestions. He's got a bike, and I believe he bikes/walks about 1 mile to work now. I like the downtown/glenwood south suggestions, since that whole area is so condensed. North Hills and Briar Creek seem like they would be too spread out to find anything close enough, but I could be wrong about that.
^^ Or are you talking about a motorcycle? 2/20/2006 8:05:13 PM |

I'm in Cameron Court now, and it's nice. It's about a 5 minute walk or 2 minute bike ride to glenwood south 2/20/2006 8:11:11 PM |
