I currently use DeadAIM and love it for the following reasons:

1) Tabbed IM Windows
2) Removal of all the ads
3) IM Logging

The problem is that DeadAIM is now a dead program, and only works with AIM 5.5 or lower which means that I can't use the talk while away feature of the newer versions of AIM......very annoying

So I'm looking for another alternative to DeadAIM that will give me at least the three main benefits of DeadAIM that I listed above without sacrificing any of the other features of AIM

I've tried Trillian, and I like it except for the fact that unless I pay for the Pro version (I'm not going to) that I can't view HTML profiles, and that's an absolute deal breaker for me

SO, ideally I'd just like to continue using DeadAIM with the newest version of AIM but that's not going to happen so I'm looking for other suggestions.....I've done some looking around on my own but haven't found anything that is totally what I'm looking for yet

though i hate to say it, the newest version of aim (triton) has all those features, works pretty well, and the ads can be removed with a simple hack that you can google for

why not just use an older version of aim? there hasn't been a single useful feature added since 5.0.98 and if firewalls aren't a concern, 4.8 is fine too.

it still sucks though, and the html viewer is buggy

aim 5.0.98 is pre-bloat/pre-faggotry, although it is after they changed the buddylist UI (for worse)
