actually, I have many many 1gb SD cards that can hold as many movies as I want them to.

Not only that, but why in the fuck would I want to watch a movie on a screen that fits in the palm of my hand?

My treo only crashes when I try to send an SMS incorrectly, and there's a simple work-around. Other than that, it simply doesn't crash.

the ipod, no matter which one you get, is an over-priced piece of equipment...they're no more functional than other leading mp3 players, they're tied down by proprietary software requirements, and you have to spend another $50+ in accessories to get it to do anything other than play an mp3

yeah, I only have 1 1 gb card and 1 128 mb card, but the only videos i want to carry with me are the occasional tv show, which encoded to fit the palm screen takes 50-80 mb, so I can fit alot.

this thing will be pretty, but I wouldn't need it for the video

You could pick up a 2Gb SD card this week for about $60. My axim cost less than the video iPod and does so much more. It definitely fits my lifestyle more than an iPod, but I can see where some might only need the entertainment aspect.

seriously I can't remember the last time I had to reset it.

as for UI, its all down to personal preference. I hated the interface on my sisters mini ipod... the scroll wheel doesn't do it for me. On the treo, all I have to do is type in the first couple letters of the artist or song, or I can use the nav keys to scroll quickly through my playlists.

I'm sorry, i got a 3G for music, i like the button set up, if the screen was color it'd be perfect. I have no interest in making it smaller thinner stupider looking just to watch video on it. Thanks but I own a laptop and If i wanna sit down and watch movies, i'll bring it along.

the american market is usually much more difficult and expensive to penetrate than other markets. companies often release products in foreign markets first to make sure they are ready for the us market. this shouldn't be a concept that is really that shocking or eye opening to anyone. the american market is where the money is at, companies want to make sure everything is ready before they make the investment and go after the american market. this should really all be common sense.

actually i know of a lot of prodcuts made by US companies released internationally before they are released in the US, but apple generally does realease first in the US
