After waiting 2 years and paying $200,000 ... the new owner wrecks said car with only 9 miles on it.

>.<

And yes folks, there are pictures.

I guess nobody thinks breaking in an engine is important any more

he sure broke it in allright

[Edited on February 25, 2006 at 12:10 AM. Reason : he would have broke it in even better if it didnt have a mid-engine setup]

That's what happens with a lightweigh body. Nothing bends. It just breaks in half.

That's buff right out.

I saw a video of a guy who put 600 to the wheels with just a pulley...

the gt's body is by mayflower, the engine is by roush, the assembly is by saleen, on a bespoke aluminum platform using the newest welding tech and the original shape you could credit to lola....... seriously... it's a special project sponsored by ford , you can't point to your rusto-cruiser's interior plastic and try to make some kind of valuable judgment about the GT. About the only real gripes I have with it are the crappy ford paint and how none of the hydroformed aluminum engine covers are really shaped right. All but 2 that I've seen have the top of the fenderwell completely misaligned with the rear bodywork. The engine covers are reinforced with carbon fiber, they might as well have just made the entire engine cover purely out of carbon fiber, it probably would have shifted the weight fwd a bit and they'd actually get some kind of consistency for that part..

I'm still bitter about my '96 T-Bird that died out on me at 70k mi. I can't believe the same company could build anything worth respect.

I'm pretty sure a Thunderbird and a GT are built with different levels of quality control, as well as severe differences in part quality.

Such a fucking stupid argument.
