What do ya'll think about the medically enhanced eye-steroids (not technically steroids, but close to it) that baseball and softball players are using now? Brian Roberts uses them amongst others. Some athletes at our school could use them as well.

But they enhance their vision/ability/performance....

What is the different between them and steroids? How long before they are outlawed?

lol... don't know. never tried them.

But seriously, if they make you see better which would help you hit better... how are they legal? They aren't like bifocals, they are medically enhanced.

so...enhanced like they are the correct Rx?

doubful that any are 'medically enhanced'

surely you can tune the molecular structure of the polymers used to enhance certain colors, or change contrast.

Quote :
"there is a new contact lens specifically designed for tennis. This lens has a selective optical filter that dramatically increases the contrast between the optic yellow color of most tennis balls and the background. This makes tennis balls easier to track and hit. "

They are by NIKE. You can get them without a prescription but their sole purpose is to enhance their ability in sports (baseball, softball, tennis, etc.).

impossible. all contacts must be fitted, you need to know the curvature of your eye.

Check out this link. I'm sure they are not illegal, but I was just wondering what ya'lls thoughts were about them? If they give you an "edge", then why allow them?

lol.... but why would people pay thousands for these things compared to sunglasses?

I believe you, I just think there is more to it.

Kyle Wright for Miami, and Ken Griffey both used them for parts of last season

just make your eyes look red and demonic

no difference between this or an anklee brace....sun stick...or wearing flip up glasses

not even close to being "steroids"

for baseball, not only does it help with the sunlight, but it also helps you with reading the spin of the baseball. I read an interview where Brian Roberts said he could clearly see that laces.

I bet it makes hitting a randy johnson slider a lot easier

its all nike hype, i followed miami football pretty close when i was down there, and from what I hear Kyle Wright did not like them, only wore them for the first game or 2

if you can see the laces on a 90+ mile an our fastball i got a bridge i will sell ya

Lol, alright man. I was very serious when saying that they were actual eye-steroids. I didn't know what they were to start with until I found out more about them (see later in the thread).

But thanks for stating the obvious.
