I like it....very convenient...I have my own bathroom since my apt. is one of many here that only has 3 of the 4 bedrooms occupied. Plus, everything in the apt. is pretty new and in good condition. Some of the bedrooms are kinda small, but some (like mine) are decently sized. 2/26/2006 10:05:57 PM |

Someone forgot to mention that Wolf Village and College Inn are both ridiculously overpriced. 2/26/2006 10:09:55 PM |

I am moving out of WV after this year....too small and too expensive. Over $500/month expensive plus the football team is getting moved back into WV next year since they are getting kicked out of College Inn.
Other than that it is quiet for the most part, however they threw these buildings up very quickly. My room feels more like a jail cell. Every once and a while the air that blows into the apartment smells like the return from the bathroom next to our apartment. So pretty much it will randomly smell like crap. Washing dishes by hand sucks too. The Wolflink shuttle is often overcrowded at busy times.
If you think you can handle all of that for a semester then go ahead and live here. Otherwise go somewhere off campus. 2/26/2006 10:20:20 PM |

Yeah there are some idiots above me that make continual knocking noises at random times late at night. And we arent the only ones who heard them. The people above them heard the knocking as well as my entire apartment and the guys across the hall from us. This all happens after 12 AM on weeknights, not weekends. 2/26/2006 10:52:37 PM |

That's because transportation feels compelled to put the smallest buses in the fleet on the route.

Close to campus, but small and shared bathroom. I don't have any major problems with it. It's better than the dorms. 2/26/2006 10:56:12 PM |

I almost never ride the bus. And the most of my classes are at Tompkins. And I'm "out of shape." So walking isn't really that big a deal unless you're going to Centennial or time is an issue. 2/26/2006 11:29:20 PM |

if you do have classes at centennial and you're living at WV, you have the village link.
i like WV. it's furnished, you don't have to pay varying utilities costs, it's convenient, and even though the bedrooms are unforunately small, i think it's a fairly nice place.
for me, my parents are paying for school, and they want to make sure i stay "academically focused" and to them, that means staying on campus. so this is a nice solution to cramped dorm rooms and no privacy. 2/26/2006 11:50:38 PM |

Eh, it's not that bad. I wouldn't recommend living here if you don't know your roommates ahead of time though. Me and my roommates have managed to piss off the main WV guy every weekend since the beginning of the semester since we live right above him. But he hasn't threatened to kick us out or anything yet so I suppose he's ok. 2/27/2006 11:21:01 AM |

The convenience of living on campus and the NCSU connection are your two big bonuses living in WV.
I chose not to live there because it was overpriced for a cinderblock cell (as mentioned above), the rooms were tiny, and no co-ed apartments (all of my planned roommates were guys so that wouldn't have worked out very well).
Definitely go and take a look at them yourself. Take the room sizes into account... make sure you aren't being shown one of the large floorplans only to be destined to end up in something you weren't expecting.
Personally, I'd suggest finding an apartment off Avent Ferry on the Wolfline that would give you a 6mo. lease... but that's just my opinion. 2/27/2006 10:26:00 PM |

I haven't lived in them but from what I saw, the bedrooms definitely looked tiny. Just go visit some of the local apartment places, you might be able to find one that lets you choose how long your lease is. 2/28/2006 12:33:13 AM |

It's quiet, clean, and well-maintained, but also more expensive than an unfurnished apartment off campus of course. It's not a place to party really.
The bedrooms are small. That's my only gripe. I walk to all my classes. The bus is crowded and not much faster than walking... I walk to Caldwell several times a week. It's not really that far, and is good exercise. I plan on living in the same room next year.
Does anyone know which buildings will have the football team? I'm in Building E. 2/28/2006 1:18:31 AM |

If crowded buses are a problem to you, all you really have to do is walk down to the stop near the west lot, it takes like 1 minute and pretty much guarantees you a seat. 2/28/2006 1:40:14 AM |

IMHO- Wolf Village is not worth it. I base this on what I pay for my place. I know friends who live in Wolf Village (Wraith being one of them) and I know I personally couldn't deal with 3-4 roommates in such a tiny space for $500 a month. Granted, I don't LIVE in WV, I have been over for social functions and it just seems so crowded and tiny for that much money. I pay $350 plus utilities for a 3-story townhome that I share with one roommate. We have a ton of space and our landlord offers 6 month leases. Maybe I just got lucky to find this place but there's no harm in looking around. 2/28/2006 2:08:11 AM |

You have to buy a parking permit. The only reason I live here is because financial aid covers it. Rooms are small, but your own at least. Very clean and quiet. 2/28/2006 2:48:36 AM |

huh? all of the main walls (walls that separate apartmens) are cinder block. The only walls that could be remotely "thin" as you put is would be the ones within the apartment. And if you have problems with noise coming through them then tell your roommates to quit their shit. As a whole, the place is a lot more sound proof than most apartments that you will find. The few things you do hear are generally deep bass sounds since they carry well through the concrete.

Did it ever occur to you that there was a reason that the buses that run through campus are the shorter buses? The long buses can't make the turns

I don't believe that for a minute. Especialy considering that College Inn was essentialy built for them and all the other athletes. The regular students are the peons that don't matter and are footing the bill. And when did the football team live in WV? I know some of them have lived there, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the whole team.
Anyways . . . about WV. Its quite, there are plenty of meeting rooms if you want to have group meetings for class or whatnot. The stuff they give you is pretty good quality, not like a piece of crap appliances and plastic faucettes that you get at the majority of apartment complexes around here. Parking can be a hastle if you are one that likes to park close to where you live and especially if you get back late at night. If something breaks, just tell the 24 hr desk and it should get fixed pretty quickly. Everything I ever had break was fixed that day.
Are you only going to be here one semester because you are graduating or going to a co-op or something along those lines? If so then housing will let you out of your lease real easy and you won't have to find someone to take over you lease like at most apartment complexes. But if you are just taking a semester off, then I believe you have to pay like a $200 fee to only be there for the fall and not the spring since it is technically a full academic year lease.2/28/2006 2:16:17 PM |

haha. I'm in the B building also. It's gone off in a couple others also. It's funny how you can hear the alarms outside your apartment before the ones in your room go off. I heard it and was like FUCK and covered my ears, sure enough there went the flashing and the noise. 2/28/2006 7:42:27 PM |
