anybody know a plugin that will find duplicate songs and keep them out of your library?? im asking because my iPod is getting full and a lot of the space is taken up by dulpicate songs. and yes, my collection of mp3s is very organized. the problem is the albums that have existing singles. deleting the singles is not an option. iTunes did this sortof good, but it doesnt have a "watch folder" feature so its worthless to me.

For winamp, try the following.

na, both of these are just for playlists. i just wish damn iTunes had watch folders, then it would be perfect. 3/6/2006 2:15:37 AM |

Are you saying that you want to keep duplicates files, but you don't want to list them in your library? 3/6/2006 2:55:16 PM |

yes, keep the duplicates on the harddrive but not in the media library. iTunes does this in a way, but then im sure if it had the ability to watch folders, it would just re-add the duplicate songs removed.

i think i found a solution. if your picky on your music collection like i am, try out mediamonkey. it comes with 5th generation iPod support. get your hands on the gold version and it works pretty well. its like winamp and itunes combined (even looks the same in some aspects).
key things: -watch folders -album art -script support -even smarter playlist generation
as for the duplicates, im gonna write my own script to fix that.
