my dad has one of these at home, great tables, only the best of the best, and yes theyre $1000 new. youd have to see what condition its in but $500 isnt a bad price if you know what these tables are. that being said, $160.

you must not understand proxy bidding. If the opening bid was $500, then theres no way a bidder could bid $300, $600 or whatever. It always starts at the opening bid.

Sure, there could still be some shill bidding involved here. But it wouldn't be very smart, since if no one bids higher then he will have to pay closing costs on a $500 item without even selling it.
