not tires...tire...truck because i need it to be wide (though if you have a wide car tire, that will work too)...i don't want to pay for it because i don't care if it's used, i don't care if the tread is gone (i'm going to be cutting it up anyway)
the tire does, however, need to have fiberglass/rayon/not steel belting or fibers...i think most newer tires have steel belts through them, but maybe the cheaper ones don't? i don't know...let me know if you have one i can pick up 3/7/2006 3:13:07 PM |

what do you need it for?
and you want just the tire, not the rim?

I've got an old bias ply tractor tire around here, but it would be a long drive for you to get it. 3/7/2006 9:38:56 PM |

you could probably go to some local junkyard that crushes cars and get one for free. Most have rather large piles of em just sitting around in the way waiting to be disposed of. 3/8/2006 1:08:39 PM |

i figured as much...where's the nearest junkyard, anyone know?
shoot...i could just pull over on the side of I-40 and pick up one of the retreads that peeled off a semi's tire...i thought that might be tacky, though

nah, that wouldn't be tacky . . . and besides who cares what people driving down the road think of you.
that would prolly be a great idea though, i don't believe the retread part is belted. 3/10/2006 11:06:56 AM |
