The bf turns 26 soon and I haven't been w/ him long enough to know what he would want (since we haven't hit any holidays or birthdays yet)... nor have I ever dated a guy who is about to turn 26.... So I am very confused. I know that his previous ex's got him very weird gifts that he didn't like (VERY WEIRD)... so I don't want to fit in w/ that trend- haha. I've got the sexy gifts down pat... But I don't know what else. I want it to be something very cool/memorable. I just got him a wallet for an every day random gift because he had used the same wallet since senior year of high school. He really liked that (considering he had dated numerous girls since senior year of hs and they never thought to get him one)- but I definitely need ideas. His birthday isn't till April 8th, but I am ridiculously busy so I need to get a head start. Please help.

Lapdance... Note taken...

Aquarium... No can do- he is in b/tw living arrangements....

Danny... I'm sorry... I just love the advice the lounge gives. And I need advice on the things I've asked about. If you don't like my threads, don't read them.

[Edited on March 8, 2006 at 9:33 AM. Reason : BTW- In the second thread, the bf wasn't mentioned till much later as a response.]

i got my bf a pocket watch with his name engraved on the outside for his first gift (it was his bday too)....he loves it and wears it everyday since

it wasnt that expensive (<$45) and even if your guy doesnt especially like pocket watches, i think its still a pretty cool gift to get

I think a baby falls in to the weird category of things he doesn't like.

That's a cute idea OMFGPlzDoMe. I don't think that's really his style though unfortunately.

What does he do in his free time? Just pay attention to the things he enjoys, you said you havnt dated long but it still should be time to know what he enjoys.

For example, if he does a lot of carpendry or works on cars ect. buy him some tools, with the time you have you can work in into conversations what are some things that needs replacing or something that he doesnt need but has always wanted.
OR
Whos his favorite actor? Buy him a bunch of movies with that person in it.

Like I said, just pay attention to him in the next week or two and you should be able to come up with something that has a lil bit of personal thought to it. Since we dont know him we wont be able to come up with something that good.

True, but I can get standard ideas and build off them... The pocketwatch idea actually gave me an excellent idea of something that is similar-- which is fabulous.

I like to give like themed "baskets" although not necessarily in baskets I usually try to stick to a theme such as for Christmas it was music and so I went to Coconuts and bought a lot of CDs, music DVDs, a shirt, a CD Dr. and some other music stuff. one time it was Movies, I got a bunch of DVDs, Blockbuster gift certificate, Movie gift certificate, sound track and some other stuff. One time he seriously needed a pair of shoes and the store didnt have his size so I went to another store without telling him and got the shoes, some socks, some cleaner, and extra laces since somehow he breaks his and some boxers (he needed those too, haha) .
anyway, to me themes are fun because it narrows down your buying field and that actually makes it easier because its not so overwhelming and then everytime i always ended up finding that one more thing that i wasnt planning on getting but it turns out to go with the rest of it perfectly and i cant resist.
good luck though.

I just got him something excellent!! I am so excited! (I can't tell tho b/c some of his friends are on this site)

I am an excellent cook. lol So I decided to leave the dinner up to him. I'll take him out or cook... Whatever he wants....

And then there are the 'fun' gifts. haha

Need some more ideas though.

Smath74 You never made the move!

Whatever you do get him, make sure it is something practical that he has a use for and will actually use. Off the top of my head it is probably going to start getting warmer soon, perhaps a nice pair of sunglasses?

I got my bf a laptop for his 26th, but something tells me that is out of your price range. My bf is fond of practical gifts, his favorite was a Kitchenaid stand mixer. You should know at least something about his hobbies/interests. Go on amazon.com or something similar, and pick out some sort of practical novelty item for something he's interested in, something he'd want but would be low on his list of things to buy for himself. I've never gone wrong that way.

Well, for the fashionably challenged---clothes.
For the car lover---neat car things like....a detailing package from a body shop.
For the sportster---take him to see a game or get him tickets for him and a friend.

I'm out of ideas and I didn't read the thread..sorry for repeats.

No -- I'm just big in to gifts... and I know how bad his birthday was last year... His dad passed away around the same time... So yes, maybe I am going to do more than I should but- I'm going to make sure he's happy on his birthday this time. (Thanks for the concern though )

These are all good ideas. Thanks.

I have a great idea

Why not post stuff on TWW in a desperate attempt to antagonize your ex boyfriend?

If you really need advice on what to do for you bf's birthday you're as clueless as you are psychotic.
