They show the population on the bottom of the screen after the year and its 39000 and change. I am thinking that all the fat that the characters have developed will be shaved off soon after the cylon occupation due to stress and the higher alertness.

Thing I cant see is....how are they going to get the people off new caprica. I mean if the fleet is so poorly manned and the cylons are is such force you cant get everyone. They may be able to get some main characters off world with some trickery, but other than that it seems like something drastic would need to happen. Like if Adama somehow had a plan worked out if something like this were to happen.

No, I think Dr. Who is playing in its time slot. I still don't understand why Sci-Fi decided to wait and give it an October season premiere. If they are concerned by ratings, why not start it the same time as other premieres in the Fall or in the summer when there is nothing good on on the bigger networks.

^^ Since Sci-Fi is owned by NBC, the rumor speculated that NBC wanted to reap the benefits of BSG's critical and ratings success. It would never workout in my opinion, because no matter how great the show is some people just aren't open minded enough to watch BSG because of its genre. Although there is hope with shows like Lost and Invasion being ratings hits.

yeah i doubt it will happen. BSG is a cable show. it belongs in a place where the fans are going to watch it because of what it is. it shouldn't be shown to the masses because when the ratings start to slip, they will add a converted borg with huge tits, and water-downed story lines in an attempt to appeal to the masses and boost ratings.

I like the show a good bit but Sci-Fi has a bad habit of shitcanning good shows. They dropped Farscape (their highest rated show at the time) in favor of Tremors: The Series (a fucking horrible show that lasted about 6 episodes).

They cited production costs as one reason for dropping Farscape and I would bet BSG is more expensive to make than that.
