I come back to my dorm from spring break yesterday...went straight to bed. Today i wake up, and see a cockroach on the foor. I killed it and all..but is this somehting i need to be worried about? I never dealth with roaches before...

haha the flavor of life of the dorms. which dorm btw? few years back in metcalf i was at my desk and turned around to get up and saw a huge roach in the middle of our floor. by the time i could get up and find somethin to kill it with it had scampered away under our carpet then who knows where.

If you're that worried, ask your RA if you're allowed to put out roach traps.

There's a kind of bait that's solid, clear top, and has two types of bait inside it. Works like a freaking *charm*, or at least it did for us when we had a problem with bugs that we carried over from the old roach infested place into the new.

word of caution, put them in places you wont freak out if you see bugs.

put in a pest control thing at the front desk. you're technically not allowed roach sprays or things due to someone else might be allergic to it near where you live.

(I was an RA and lived in dorms for 3.5 years)

Live in Florida for a few years ... the ones here are nothing.

And definitely run this by your RA. I had ant traps out most of my second year and had to sprayed my Windows fourth year (in apartments) to get rid of the ladybugs.

The small bastards I can handle, but I can hardly get any sleep when I spot a fat cockroach scampering across my rug to some unknown crevace.

Same goes for large spiders.

we had a massive roach problem at my apartment last year. one day i pulled back the fridge and they had been breeding like crazy under there, it was like a bad movie. I think i sprayed an entire can of Raid in a 4 square foot area of floor
