So basically your taste in music is so bad that it even gets in the way of your academic priorities.

^ exactly. but it was good because thats how i am

^^^ yea ok, lets see what you listen to
and you based my musical taste on a list of 7 songs. 3 of which i dont even own any music of or am i a huge fan of but for being on the radio it wasnt bad.
and yea it got in the way of my priorities that i was 5 minutes early intead of 15.

if youre gonna come in here and say that someone who listens to the pixies and radiohead had bad taste in music you need to get out of the entertainment section

because the point of 88.1 is to play non-mainstream stuff. you can turn to any other radio station and hear top 40.

aha, well wknc does play top 40

it just aint g105 top 40

if you listen to the station enough, you'll hear the same sort of repeat radio format, just different songs

i love wknc to death, but it is repeat radio

but that's the nature of radio listeners

if you listened to wknc every day like i do

you'd know to expect 'of montreal' to be played at least once every 2 hours

and that the kids call up every day to request "the fight club song"

haha this is funny. it wasn't the automated DJ fyi. It was me!

this was my first day of DJ class where I was able to play around on air. Jay w/ red hair is my instructor and he is a darn good teacher.

blur - song 2
stretch arm strong - for the record
radiohead - idioteque
at the drive in - one armed scissor

those were the 4 songs I selected to play. the rest was all jay. I just combed through the library and picked out some songs I really liked. I played blur song 2 first because that was the first tape I ever bought.

I am glad someone enjoyed my random selections haha. I can't wait until I am passed off and can get my own little show! Oh the fun to be had!

PS: Racebannon ruled all last night.

It is to some degree repeat radio, but that's good for people like me who don't get much otherwise exposure to non-mainstream radio. Some of the songs on there that I really like grew on me over hearing them a few times.

Though there is stuff that gets overplayed. Whoever keeps playing "Dance Music" by the Mountain Goats, please stop.

i've requested a few songs in the past weeks, and it seems that either 1) your stuff is horribly organized so that dj's can't find it. 2) the dj's are liars and are actually just lazy and don't look for stuff or 3) your selection of "college radio" music is abysmally bad

i had to go through 5 or 6 songs before the dj could find something they had.

and only the first of these is usually even somewhat obscure. the rest every college radio station should have.

when i make requests, i try to request things i know knc has...especially if it's in dj automation.

i used to work there, i know what they have and what they don't

i ask human dj and they're like "yeah, i'll see if i can find it"

it ain't hard- pepe deluxe is under P and lansing-drieden is under L

i know you have it
