Yeah, but if you've got a key that you know isn't completely fucking dirty, they'll let you activate for free.

The link above does not work. It still verifies the license key. I can't see windows being ok with me calling and saying, "Hey i have an illegal copy of windows and was wondering if you would be ok with me downloading the updates for it so i don't have to go out and purchase the real version of it."

You need a key that's not blacklisted.

Whether it's yours or not, doesnt matter.

Dude, if you have a volume license key, it needs to be legit and not on the blacklist. If it IS legit, then call them up over the phone ... 99% of the time its completely automated. Google "change windows product key" and it'll tell you how to activate by phone. If its not legit, let the bucket be dropped on this thread.

It's worth way more than it costs, because most of you retards couldn't use anything else if you were forced to.

i just don't why idiots are so damn content about having an os that is not legit... leave piracy to the muthafuckers that know how to pirate, and not ask about it on a message board

hahahahaha

I'll give you a dollar if you can even get a linux distribution installed, and have all your hardware working.

Another dollar if you can get a X system up and running with hardware acceleration

IN IE go to Tools menu -> Internet options. On the Programs tab choose manage add-ons. Disable Windows Genuine Advantage.

you owe me two dollars ass hole. You aren't the only computer literate person ever created on the face of the earth. I can read directions. Oh, i'm gonna also go out on a limb and bet you didn't pay for your operating system.

Damn right I didn't.

But I sure as hell have LEGAL copies. There's a difference between obtaining things for free, and stealing them.

One way or another, you still owe me two bucks. And why talk so much shit about just buying something when you didn't buy it yourself.

because you are being a fucking idiot by admitting on a message board, especially THIS messageboard, that you are running an illegal copy of your OS. God only knows how much other shit you have pirated on there.

Seriously, lets see some screenshots of this linux install. Particularly the hardware configurations.

^^So if 70% of people rape, pillage and murder their neighbors, that should be OKIE DOKIE too?

And that's a complete bullshit number.

There is no mention at all of the piracy rate of Windows, xp or otherwise. So basically you posted a worthless link. Funny thing too, I even checked EVERY VERSION OF THAT PAGE LISTED on archive.org. Guess what? No mention on any of those either.

Not that it makes it "right" even if your retarded statement were true.

yea, WORLD WIDE, FOR EVERYTHING.

And WHY THE FUCK DOES IT MATTER? Would it make it any better if piracy only cost 10 dollars a year or 10 trillion?

What the fuck is your point here?

Have you ever worked for a living? Do you EARN MONEY?

AND IT NEVER FUCKING SAID THAT, EVER. (funny thing about lies, huh?)

For a motherfucker majoring in criminology, you'd think you would have some fucking concept of ETHICAL BEHAVIOR.

http://www.tectonic.co.za/view.php?id=352 That says 80%. One day you may get off your high horse and not want to pay for windows either. Especially on a tight budget. I have paid for it three times already and everytime i change a major system component and try to update if will not let you. I don't want to pay for it again and again when i change components and do a clean install.

that's a prediction, fucktard, not a fact

and you're telling us that you are pirating windows because you can't reinstall it?

^^Wait, you're going to honestly try to say you have THREE LEGAL COPIES and yet you are using an illegal copy?

Have you ever thought, hey, I have a legal copy, let me just call MS and reactivate it? Gee whiz, I sure as fuck have. Way to add some more lies on top there. Because I have activated my key well over 50 times, with not a single issue. Change the hardware, call MS, get the activation key. It takes 5 minutes. max.

And that article is talking about EMERGING COUNTRIES, not the fucking US. You aren't making 30 cents an hour in a sweatshop, you can afford it.

Windows XP is $70 at the NC State Bookstore. If you are student with an MSDNAA subscription, I know they offer free through there.

Mark, if you need some assistance reactivating your legit purchased keys, send me a PM. And disabling Genuine Advantage isn't a great idea ... you'll miss out on security updates.

^^^ Did you really read the article? Actually it said

11% of the computers in emerging countries will have linux installed at the time of sale and then 80% OF THESE will end up with a pirate version of windows.

>>I.E. they predict 8.8% of all computers sold in emerging countries will have linux installed at the time of sale but end up with a pirated version of windows.

It says nothing about the overall piracy rate in the world, US, or in emerging countries.
