I'm in 421 with Edmonson right now. Its basically been a rehash of 301 so far. First test was some systems stuff and few questions on convolution. Seemed real easy but the class average was a 60 with a low of 15. The class isn't too terribly difficult and there is a big MATLAB project at the end.

Don't know about the others but I am taking 420 next semester, looks like a very interesting class and I can tell you if you haven't had Alexander, he is an awesome teacher.

^ I agree on Alexander, I enjoyed his ECE301 class.

I was in ECE 303 with Iafrate this semester, but dropped. I did not like his teaching style very much - very boring, lectured the whole class, I could not stay awake. One thing that bothered me was that he hand wrote all of his lectures/homework assignments, and his handwriting is sloppy.

ece420 is good with alexander. ece435 seems like a decent course so far, but brickley is terrible to be frank. Its as if he picks random numbers from 1-100 to assign hw. Also the first test didnt even cover the biggest topics.

ECE 421 with Duel-Hallen was an absolute waste of my time and anybody else's who took it. We learned absolutely nothing new as it was a total repeat of ECE 301.

If you want to retake ECE 301, take it with her.

ECE 420 I've heard is a good class to take. Alexander's a good professor and you'll get a lot out of the class. However, some people don't like Alexander and such but you either enjoy how he teaches or you really can't stand it.

422 was probably the best class i've taken in EE. 421 w/ duel hallen was absolutely the worst. 420 w/ alexander is going well so far, it's pretty neat.

avoid 421 w/ duel hallen at all costs. it would be one thing if she sucked but you still learned something, except...you don't. not. a. damn. thing. it was horrible.

take 422. i'd be curious to see what a non-alexander 422 class is like.

AVOID DUEL HALLEN LIKE THE MOTHER FUCKING PLAGUE ... IF YOU TAKE 421 WITH HER YOU ARE MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE.

Alexander is very hit or miss. You will either like him a lot or dislike him, there is no way to be on the fence. I personally have had him for 3 classes and enjoy him a lot.

Brickley sucks but I think he is the main teacher for 435 so you might as well take it since it is useful stuff.

thanks all!

^^ does 422 expects you to remember a lot of concepts from ece303, because i took that in fall 2004, and don't really recall much.

don't feel like FTPing just to embed it for one thread

And I wanna take 422, but I'm gradumacating this semester. It's what I SHOULD have taken instead of 421.
