This opening round has shown that the gap between the major conferences and non-majors' talent pool has decreased. I think what may attribute to this is the inability of big time schools other than Duke to keep star players for all 4 years. I think the trend is starting to catch up to the big time conferences, who will probably continue to not schedule the better teams from the smaller conferences. Teams like George Mason and Murray State will continue to have a hard time finding quality non-conference opponents because few big-time programs want to risk a OOC loss to a team from an inferior, smaller conference, while doormats will always be able to find a decent team from a power conference to walk all over them.

I am just enjoying the new parity, that is all

I agree with you about this year

Parity is about to go way the hell down next year when NBA ready high school players aren't allowed in the NBA anymore. So what happens? They go to UNC of course.

Do you know what I'd pay to see a 22-game ACC schedule with minimal cupcake OOCs?

A fucking lot.

^^ they can always adjust the RPI to balance it out, if needed

The ncaa is selling a product, and they have a better product if there is more competition. This first round has been pretty exciting.

If ACC teams puss out and don't schedule OOC games in fear of losing, the ACC doesn't deserve to be a Power Conference. Period.

i agree with the first post

its kinda similar to the gap between USA basketball and the rest of the world which has been evident if you've watched the last few Summer Olympics
