I just downloaded Ben Fold Five's Brick, and Jack Johnson's Sitting, Waiting, Wishing and love them!

Anybody got music suggestions that are similar to those?
I also like the Beatles, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, Everclear, Incubus, Marcy Playground and Nirvana.

more ben folds! and then buy one of my extra tickets for his show.

other suggestions:
red hot chili peppers (if you haven't already heard them, though that's doubtful)
brown couch (awesome)
ben kweller (they have the same name... and both have piano and are really good)
aqualung (more chill than ben folds)
eisley (amazing female vocals)
guster (more uptempo than jack johnson)
howie day (similar to jack johnson)
michael flynn (piano)

also, i love orson scott card, hence i love the quote on your user info.

I second PvtJokers' Mason Jennings... he's great

more Ben Folds ... anything Ben Folds.
Otis Redding, especially Dock of the Bay
Ben Lee is good too (the other 1/3 of "the Bens" - the other 2 being Folds and Kweller), I'd definately download "Catch my Disease"
Harry Connick, Jr.
Avett Brothers

Red West has songs that sound similar to Ben Folds and Jack Johnson.
www.theredwest.com

I also found Howie Day's albumn surprisingly good and probably would fit with that type of music.

Also perhaps Finn Brothers, and I'll second Ryan Adams and more Ben Folds.

Some newer stuff I've been getting into lately:
Snowden
Cold War Kids
I'm From Barcelona
Jose Gonzales
Cinemechanica
Beirut

No particular albums, I guess, but if you can get ahold of any of their stuff online it's worth giving a listen. I might list some more later.

I saw your I'm From Barcelona so Ill check them out. I do like that Beirut song (postcards from paris). His music reminds me of jens lekman a little. I have a lot of Jose Gonzales songs that I enjoy but never listed to a full release.

Also, Midlake should be leaking soon. Their song Roscoe would always put me in some kind of trance. It sounds so familiar but i cant quite place it.
