or ...or....it's exactly like cutco and you just advertised a commissioned sales job while claiming not to be like cutco... If you're afraid to tell what the job is... It's BS3/22/2006 3:23:47 AM |

No... sorry for the confusion guys... I mentioned cutco because I know how sensitive everyone is about those vector marketing people
Its a sales job... and Ill be strait up about it... its for a website.. http://www.GoOffCampus.com
I have built up enough revenue now that I can afford to hire someone to do sales because I cannot do so while working full time at cisco and taking classes also. Honestly, If I was so overloaded with committments right now I would be doing it myself. I offer commissions as high as they are because I want someone who is motivated by money to be doing this... someone who sees a good opportunity and will come and work hard.
The job really isnt that hard because what I charge to apartment complexes and management companies is far below the going market rate, as it should be because the site is young. BUT.. The features are being added to every day, making it a better and better value.
Honestly, I havent even but started to tap the local market here at ncsu, unc, and duke, and I get enough calls from management companies themselves who see the site and want to advertise, that it pays for my time... but I want to speed up the process a bit and turn this into a lucrative business.
If someone is looking for a great opportunity at the ground floor, with guaranteed hourly wage(6-8 per hour depending on ability, plus commissions like i said (50% initial, 25% recurring)), then this is a great part time opportunity.
I am also going to post over at unc in a few weeks unless I find someone here first, but I wanted to give my alma mater a run for it first.
Thanks everyone, and if you know someone with some entrpreneural spirit and motivation, then please refer them to me. 3/22/2006 7:33:40 AM |

so you want someone to sell listings, or banner ads? 3/22/2006 8:24:00 AM |
robster All American 3545 Posts user info edit post |
both... mostly targeting the apartment complexes and management companies around campuses all over the US. For example I have a management company in charlotte that contacted me and has 500 listings in charlotte... they want to set up an account, which by my $50 per 10 listings rate, would be $2500, plus they want to buy some banner advertising.
Surprising to me, this has been an easier sell than I expected initially.
In addition, I will be expanding the breadth of the site once I get everything set up like I want ... so there will be even more opportunities for sales. I just wish I wasnt working full time and in school right now, because there is so much I want to do with it.
Thanks ! 3/22/2006 9:08:13 AM |

so you are the creater and owner of the website?
How have you come by the listings for the far away schools? Like the Utah and Texas-Austin.
How many hits are you getting on the site?

getting lots of traffic, most of which is NC, but people in other places see my ads and post also.
Unique hits, about 4000 per month right now. Views, 40-60k, and that has been tripling every month.
Yeah, I made the site and I am the only one working on it at the moment. 3/22/2006 9:21:39 AM |

Are you getting a commission from the complexes for rentals that originate from your site?
How long has the site been up?
How have you advertised it? Or has it just spread by word of mouth?
how do your rates compare to say rent.com or some other big site like that?

Id rather not get into the advertising details... but it has been both ads and word of mouth...
The sales person would get sales from what he/she goes out and gets, and if it is conducted over the site, then that is fine as long as its mentioned that he/she was involved in the sale... I wont be greedy about it.
My rates are far below what rent.com charges. But I look to move up gradually as things take off.
But right now, its practically a no brainer for student housing complexes. The problem is that most complexes respond better to face to face than to phone solicitation. 3/22/2006 9:42:15 AM |

I can see this taking off in the future.
Might send you a resume, but I'll only be in raleigh for the summer.
Just out of curiosity, are the companies just listed on the website with relevant info and a phone number to call, or do they actually put their availabilities on the website?
