Does anyone know about the Wachovia Federal Loan PLUS for Graduate/Prof. Students? It seems like that migh be a better way to go then a private loan if need be. I'm new with Aid/Loans for school because I never had to deal with any of this as an undergrad..
I'm going to max out the Stafford Loans I'm sure (18,500/yr) but I need a bit more to cover living. I have plenty saved up to cover the Tuition-Stafford loan difference each year but would have NONE left over for housing, insurances, etc, etc..
Any advice on what private loan might be the best? I know this is a pretty ambiguous question but any input would be appreciated.. 3/22/2006 9:02:34 AM |

how are you going to max out? Where are you going?
I would dfinately talk to your financial aid department. However private is about the only way to go after you have used all of the Stafford alottment.

I have ~45,000 saved up. I'm only one year out of undergraduate and Law School is 31,000 tuition..
Not cheap. The average debt at the school I'm going to is nearly $90,000 so it's certainly not out of the ordinary.
I figure I have enough to cover for the tuition difference saved up.. roughly. So I need a private loan to cover the rest. I'm going to meet with someone from Wachovia I decided...
** Oh shut up. Don't act like you're gonna have $120,000 lying around one year out of school..
^ I'm going to execute a hit on Chipper at Citizens Bank Park when I'm up there the faggot.. maybe that will give me some extra $$$

oh you are going to a private/out of state law school.
Talk to the financial aid department, they will be able to tell you how to go about the best loans but a PLUS loan will be your best option however various lenders may give you better options than others. Obviously law school you really cannot work outside of as easily as others though you may find you can.
My sister was able to pick up scholar ships and a job after her first year of law school. 3/22/2006 7:00:49 PM |

Thanks! Well I got into a bunch of schools with schollys but I didn't get a scholarship to the shool I want to go to and don't want to sell myself short so I'm will to take on a bit extra debt (with hopes it should pay off AFTER school..)
I'm going to do some more research/talk to people but I just wanted to see if any others had any experience...
