Which do you think is bigger, more popular, gets more hype??? I think the NCAA tourney has it beat by a long run. 3/22/2006 10:28:17 AM |

apples and oranges.
NCAA tourney is much longer, it's not a single-day event.

the superbowl gets more hype than the ncaa championship game
but the weeks leading up to each are better for bball since there are dozens of games 3/22/2006 10:40:44 AM |

I think it'd be more fair to compare NCAA tourney vs. NFL playoffs.
And in that case, I'd say playoffs 3/22/2006 10:42:11 AM |

i might say the playoffs
but something about the first two days of the ncaa tournament
32 games in 2 days...tough to beat 3/22/2006 10:44:30 AM |

I think that the tourney is just much more intense..look at it this year and look at the times that have made it this far, that go so much criticism for being there in the first place. the NFL playoffs is exciting don't get me wrong..but professional players ( i think) don't have the same heart. 3/22/2006 11:42:45 AM |

^yeah
but what's the point anyway? there's no reason to compare the two, you're never going to have to choose to watch one over the other. just enjoy them both. 3/22/2006 1:34:09 PM |

I would say it's the NCAA tourney.
NFL Playoffs vs. "March Madness" March is practically dedicated to the tourney.
The Super Bowl will always be more popular when stacked up against any one game from the tourney, however.
I would say that the NCAA tourney is capable of involving a larger amount of people than the playoffs. Schools get into it. Work gets into it. Vegas and betting sites probably go nuts over all these bracket entries. 3/22/2006 1:44:28 PM |

yet the superbowl is the single game game in the world where the most money is wagered of any other games in any sports all year 3/22/2006 1:47:22 PM |

The super bowl is just an unofficial holiday for partying with friends. The game itself is seconday to the whole event (performances, commercials). As far as the playoffs are concerned, they are not that much bigger than the regular season.
The actual NCAA games are much more intense, but as an event no tourney games are even close to the SB.
Apples to Oranges. The NCAA has a bigger overall impact, but only because it is so much longer. 3/22/2006 2:47:14 PM |

not that much bigger than the regular season? I completely disagree even though football regular season games are more important than regular season games in any other sport due to length of schedule]3/22/2006 3:23:51 PM |
